Summer temps have returned, but my mind is already geared for fall and for playing a bit with new color combinations.
This painting is an interpretation of the waterfall (cascade) that I photographed when I was visiting Doris in the spring.
You can see how I cropped the photo and simplified the subject ... and changed the greens to more colorful paints. It was a lot of fun!! and not as 'bright' as it appears on some monitors. The pinks and purples are more subtle in real life.
I'll be on and off line for a while as I care for my mom ...
Have a great week ....

I captured this self-portrait Vertorama at sunset yesterday… from the top of the hill at the Bloemendal restaurant in Durbanville. What a colourful moment that was! :)

This barn was in my neighborhood when I lived in Ohio and I drove or walked by it nearly everyday enjoying the seasons ...
the reflection of the cherry blossoms make everything lovely. 櫻花真的讓世界顯得不同啊！

“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.” Quote by John Lubbock

I'm still working with many of the wonderful ideas presented in Virgil Carter's class .... here, a typical Tuscan farm or vineyard treated with colorful warm colors against a cool mountain range - Tuscany, Sicily, Italy - home of my dreams. I hope to return once more - until then, I visit through my paintings.
I'll be heading out of town for several days and will be off line. It'll be a mighty busy time and I won't have much time to paint or have access to a computer - I'll check in as I can - and paint as often as time permits.
I hang my 60+ paintings today for the exhibit. I'll have to enjoy this showing once I get back. But we've worked feverishly to frame, mat, create signs and explanations of each piece, organize, and today, finally place on walls. I'll take photos!
Thank you too for your continued support and votes for the orchard. We're mighty close - with only 20 days or so until the competition is over and the winners announced!
I hope your weekend and week ahead are wonderful! And keep playing!

A cliff scene observed while out in the bay looking at icebergs. The different colour rocks were quite attractive. Mild watercolour effect used in processing.
I wish all my dear contacts a colourful weekend!
