This includes the crypt and the prison. The church and the crypt were originally prepared to be used by a prelate. Being part of the bishopric, there is no doubt these communicated directly with the cathedral. At the lowest level of the place, markings from the Via Augusta were found within what was the city. As for the prison, tradition says that San Vicente the Martyr was scourged here. One hundred years later, it was converted to an oratory and chapel that still remain today, and where in 1777, the well was discovered.

Trevi Fountain and The Mith of Throw A Coín

Trevi Fountain, or in Italian “Fontana Di Trevi” is the fountain located in Trevi, Rome, Italy. Of the many fountains in Italy, “Trevi Fountain” is a Baroque style fountain of the largest in Rome and is one of the most famous fountains in the world. This beautiful fountain became one of the popular tourist in Italy and is a frequent filming location. One of the favorite activities of tourists who come to the Trevi Fountain is throwing a coin related myth that developed at this location.

Trevi Fountain was built in 1732 on the orders of Pope Clement XII and designed by Nicola Salvi. However, in 1751 Nicola Salvi died. Then the project was continued by Giuseppe Pannini and was completed in 1762. Pannini was the one who designed the story figuratively depicted in the statue of the Trevi Fountain, replacing the original plan statue of Agrippa and Trivia.

The Trevi Fountain is a large fountain, with a height of 26.3 m and a width of 49.5 m which is adorned with many statues. The sculptures in the Trevi Fountain depict an allegorical story entitled Taming of The Waters, or tame water. At the center of the fountain, described Neptune or Poseidon (god of the sea) were climbing the chariot-shaped shells. The train pulled by two-tailed sea monsters, each piloted by Triton (sea god subordinates, tailless dolphin). These two horses, one quiet and obedient while the other one has a restless nature and defected, describe the nature of the sea that often fluctuate, sometimes quiet but sometimes too volatile and less friendly.

On the left hand side of Neptune, there is a relief sculpture of Abundance (prosperity) pouring water from a jug, and on the right side there Salubrity (health) is holding a cup of water being drunk by a snake. This story illustrates the story of the construction of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct, with one sculpture depicts the builders, Agrippa. As background of the Trevi Fountain is the Palazzo (palace) Poly with a design in harmony with the Trevi Fountain.

Another attraction of the Trevi Fountain is a tradition and myth throw coins into the water pond. How to throw a coin is with his back to the Trevi Fountain (back facing the pool) and threw it over the top of the shoulder. The myth says that we managed to throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain pond means we will be back again to this historic city … Rome, Italy.

Baroque is a term for the style of architecture or the art of Europe in the 17th century and 18 are characterized by the many ornaments and are made in detail.
