To the group Bokeh Thursday, the theme is coins. Had to empty our daughters piggy bank to get the coins. :-)

Long time since I posted any photos here, and it's nice to be back!

Metro Coin Dispenser

A versatile coin dispenser which is based on individule coin 'modules' allowing for greater flexilibty in configuration. Made from stainless steel and plastic this robust unit makes storing and distributing change easy and secure. Further more, the Metro unit comes with a number of accesories such as the table fitting which allows a cab driver to slide change from a coin table right into the unit.

Metro units are ideal for customers who require for example multiple tubes of the same denomination, or may require a smaller or large unit, e.g 4 tube unit. The Metro coin dispenser unit is manufactured to the highest standards in Great Britain. This unit is offered at a very competative rate.

Dimensions (aprox); 240mm (length),104mm (hight), 60mm (width).

Street candid and social documentary shot taken in Glasgow, Scotland.

This was the first shot I took on my return to street shooting since my ankle surgery and is evidence of a style of photography that comes naturally to me that I never had a word for until now, Miksang. I saw the old man counting coins and that was my only conscious decision for the shot, I framed and took the shot instinctively, just a gut reaction, which is the essence of Miksang and I often find that I have done this in my shots. Not until I review them at home do I realise that I simply instinctively captured the juxtaposition or framed the image in just the right way.

If it happened once or twice I would call it luck but I see it time and again in my images so I feel very lucky be able to shoot instinctively :)

This is close look to Bulgarian coins (the currency is Lev) .

I made this image with reversed 50mm prime lens

La scala elicoidale interna al Coin di Piazza Fiume. Opera dell'architetto e designer Franco Albini

Gaffney Road, Fairbanks Alaska.

Forty Below Zero. Polaroid ProPack, Fuji FP-3000B instant film.

When I peeled this back I somehow thought that I had inadvertently made a double exposure, but the next shot I made showed me I was wrong. I can't explain the effect except to guess it has something to do with teh extreme cold temperatures.

I'm trying to show these as close to the original prints as possible, but they fall a bit short.

Coins from Sri Lanka, 2 Rupees and 5 Rupees

Created with fd's Flickr Toys.

In my student days, I had a holiday job as barmaid in Redcar. Clients used to ask us for the empty Dimple Haig bottles because the mouth was just the right size for sixpences. And recently I discovered that Swiss half-franc coins fit in nicely too. I don't have very many in my collection, yet.

This is for Macro Mondays, In a Bottle.

I stood it on the tin the gin came in.

Here is one of my fanciful digital paintings. i tend to photograph what's laying around my house, and my son left this pile of coins sitting around, inspiring the photo.
