macro mondays - made of metal. These are small metal yo-yo's saved from numerous Christmas crackers and New Year celebrations over the years, they've certainly kept us 'kiddies' amused, fun times :))) Stay young at heart folks...and have a great day :))

(Figures it would be the one with all the candy in her pockets.)

L52721-19, consisting of SD60F 5546 and IC SD70 1007 bask in the cold rain of october only minutes before his crew call it a day. Always a nice gift to found a working pair of class light in 2014 !

2014.09.12 Kiddeminster. In a short visit to Kiddeminster I had the chance to see the Class 52 ''Westerner". For me it was a great site , as not many survived the cut-up as I understood. Compared to the 060-DA Sulzer's at home , it was something totally different.

The new Direct Rail Services Class 88 were officially introduced on 9th May 2017 with a special working from London Euston to Carlisle, which because it is wired throughout did not require any resource to it's diesel engine. The return working operated in lovely evening sunshine, and No. 88002 'Prometheus' is seen approaching Coton Lane, Tamworth, with 1Z89 1640 Carlisle - London Euston formed of the Belmond Northern Belle rake of coaches. The Flower Class Corevette was used as an anti-submarine convoy escort in WWII. A total of 267 ships of this class were built, serving in the Royal Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy. A few were transfered to the United States Navy under the Lend-Lease program.

The only remaining vessel is HMCS Sackville, which is now a museum in Halifax.

Monarch coasts down Dainton bank with the 1320 Plymouth to Liverpool passed the sidings at Stonycombe Quarry. The box was still open at this time but the sidings saw very little traffic and would soon be ripped up.

Class 47s were very rare on the North Blyth alumina and this was the only time I ever saw or heard of one; on 3 July 1998 47475 (which had once carried Regional Railways livery) approaches Freemans crossing on 6N58 Bedlington - North Blyth alumina empties. This set had worked south from Fort William.

This impressive line up of Class 50's occurred as a result of a railway strike on, I think, the 1st May 1973.

Following my recent explorations around this area, I dug out this 1984 image of a Trans-Pennine, when this was the normal route for passengers. The Sheffield & South Yorks canal traffic was much healthier back then. This view is now lost due to tree growth.
