Lightning strike on the Empire State Building (ESB) and various bits of the New York City (NYC) skyline viewed from Jersey City, NJ. It was raining pretty hard when this was shot.

HDR Shot of the Chrysler Building taken from the Empire State Building. Sky is a bit odd with some peculiar hazing but the building just looks so good.

Night shot on 42nd street in New York City, with the Grand Central Terminal and the Chrysler building front and center.
As a consolation for getting old, i.e. a milestone birthday with too many miles behind it, my wife and I spent a long weekend at the Waldorf Astoria in the Big Apple. This was the view from our room on our first morning. It was a nice consolation....oh yeah, the hotel was nice too.
Shot from the top of the Empire State Building.
Worked to create star lens flare with city lights. I didn't have my tripod with me, so I had to precariously leave my camera on the ledge outside the security fence. It was a windy night and I felt so sick waiting for each long exposure to finish!
It's been awhile since I've undertaken a middle of the night shoot, for a variety of reasons . . . Nothing like coming back with a vengeance by embracing a monster session . . . All taken within Manhattan's Midtown East and Upper East Side . . . 1st stop, Tudor City with it's famous overlook; 2nd stop, Citygroup Center; 3rd and final stop, Queensboro/59th Street Bridge . . . Pleasure to share some samples - all images taken between 1:30 and 4am
