As this is my final upload before Christmas, I thought it should be another Christmassy one!
I also thought this was an appropriate time to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit my photostream, and especially to those who have left comments and favs. I have only been on flickr for around 6 months, but nonetheless I really feel blessed to have met so many people who are willing to take some time out of their day for me. I have also been amazed by the friendliness and helpfulness of those who have been kind enough to add me to their contact list!
I wish everyone a Happy Christmas, and for those who don't celebrate it, I wish you happiness!

Mmmmm, the delightful fragrance of pine cones and real Christmas trees... :-))
Thanks to my well-informed contacts who pointed out that they are in fact alder cones...I knew this all along of course, was just using a bit of poetic licence since alder cones don't have the same scent of Christmas ;-)))))
Every shade of pink blushes softly….the delicate hues dance along the memories of Christmas past…

and to all in Flickrland too - it has been quite a year for many of us, hasn't it?
Well, let us rejoice and give thanks that most of us are still here, still creating and are able to share our wonderful art and visions and words with each other.
All of you are the most wonderful Christmas gift to me from the Universe.

Merry Christmas to all!
The plants' association with Christmas began in 16th century Mexico, where legend tells of a young girl who was too poor to provide a gift for the celebration of Jesus' birthday. The tale goes that the child was inspired by an angel to gather weeds from the roadside and place them in front of the church altar. Crimson "blossoms" sprouted from the weeds and became beautiful poinsettias. From the 17th century, Franciscan monks in Mexico included the plants in their Christmas celebrations.
Across North America, poinsettias are typical Christmas decorations in homes, churches, offices, and elsewhere, available in large numbers from grocery, drug, and hardware stores. In the United States, December 12th is National Poinsettia Day.

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...
Just like the ones I used to know ....
Where treetops glisten
And children listen
Sleighbells in the snow......."
Yes, my dream as well for that soft blanket of white that hushes the world and carpets it with a momentary innocence and a feeling of hope....
That white that casts an incredible shimmer of light when darkness falls
That white that seems to amplify the magic of the season.
Denis Collette recently posted a photograph that inspired this painting (www.flickr.com/photos/deniscollette/6534622675/in/photost...) and it fed the dream of white Cristmases that I hold dear. Thank YOU, Denis, not only for permission to use your photo, but more for the inspiration that continues to feed this holiday season and the white Christmases I love. Blessings, my friend!
I wish each of you a most joyous, memorable, peace-filled holiday season. And may you be surrounded by love, family and friends, and all good things....
Buon Natale..........May the peace and joy of the season fill your homes and your hearts!
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year...

I took this shot while getting some interesting looks from people back in late October as I placed a few ornaments on a little spruce hugging the shoreline of Lake Louise.

Merry Christmas to all my Flickr Friends, today I put out some seeds for the visiting birds to feed on. As I sat and wait for some activity, low and behold my friend came to visit and eat. Such a beautiful Red Cardinal he is. Lol: Gaston (aka Gasssman).

A picture of the Leadenhall Market at Christmas time. I wanted to capture the tree that was inside the market. I did a lot of cropping as at the full size the image looked far to busy and was hurting my eyes as there was too much to look at and the tree got lost. Let me know what you think of the crop.
Also I wanted to thank everyone for there nice comments over the last few weeks and finally i hope you all have a great christmas.
