Chana masala (punjabi chole masala) is a popular vegetarian dish originated from north india with main ingredients such as Chickpeas, onion, tomato with fine blend of exotic Indian spices. Today is Vijaya Dashami celebrated all over India.Marks the worship of Goddess Durga.Typically a festival celebrated in Bengal. We Bengalis devour sweets like rasogolla in earthen pots and lots of savoury dishes during the festival.I drew my plate of chole bhature( a traditional north Indian food consisting of chickpea curry with loads of spices and fried naan).

The famous place for food in meerut.each plate with 2 bhaturas and chole is rs.28

It was 25th Decemeber. We were sitting on a food joint next to Hussain sagar lake. Across the lake there was this bright light just above the building with green neon light. It definitely looked like a moon but we said moon could not possibly be so close to the horizon. Only when it started rising we realized it was indeed the moon. The lake was pitch dark and only way to capture the beauty was to have long shutter speeds. Tried various combination while my chola bhatura kept getting colder. The end result was enough to justify cold chole bhature and frustrating stares by wife.

Chole Bhature - R can't wait to get stuck in

Chole Bhature has achieved the distinction of being the signature Delhi dish. No matter how good the skills, no one below north India can recreate the perfect masala of chole and texture of bhaturas that you get here. Even mass market chains like Haldiram's and Bikanerwala have perfected it.

Well nothing special here, some broken papar, a couple of Green Chillies, a few pieces of Tomatoes, and Radish (Muli), with some wonderful bhature and chole, but remember you should not eat a lot of this stuff

Sunday night is the time to visit this market. A non-stop flow of shoppers, pausing only briefly for chaat or chole bhature. Stop for a second and you will find a hand gently pushing you out of the way.

Bhatoora, bhatura or batoora, (Hindi: भटूरा, Urdu: بٹورا‎, Punjabi: ਭਟੂਰਾ) is a fluffy deep-fried leavened bread from North India. It is often eaten with chickpea curry, chole or channe, making the traditional dish chole bhature.

A typical recipe includes white flour (maida), yogurt, ghee or oil, and either yeast or baking powder. Once kneaded well, the dough is left to rise, and then small balls of it are either hand-rolled or flattened using a rolling pin. Then the bread pieces are deep fried until they puff up into a lightly browned, soft, fluffy bread, which is elastic and chewy.

A nonfried variant is the kulcha, which can be baked or cooked on a flat pan and is garnished with coriander leaves. It is cooked from the same dough.

Chole Bhature is an Indian dish having a deep fried bread along with a spicy chick pea curry. The photo is that of a close up of the fried bread. Very tasty, and loaded up with calories; like all good things, harmful for you.
