Folded from a single rectangle of paper. This represents how a regular square pyramid rotates gradually around the vertical axis from the initial state (left) to the final state (right).

This model is strongly affected by a kind of papercraft called Origamic Architecture (wikipedia) which was named and developed by Masahiro Chatani (1934-2008). Despite the name, origamic architecture requires cutting. So I tried folding a model which looks like origamic architecture without cutting.

Made some cute 3D cards last weekend. Design by Masahiro Chatani.

My cousin taught me how to cut these 'paper magic' cards when I was 11, I think. Haven't been doing it for sometime, and decided to give it a try again last weekend.

Design by Masahiro Chatani.

le principe de construction de ce kirigami est celui utilisé par Masahiro Chatani pour la Grande Muraille, dans son ouvrage "origamic architecture"
