Together with a Grass Tuft make up this scene on a badly silted up River Hull.

The Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849. In the back you can see St. Stephen basilica.

Just a simple slice from the weekend. How many picture have I taken of the swings? Had to come up with a bit of a new take on the familiar. Beyond the colours, I think my favourite part is the the 'barely there' trunks that run parallel to the chain (wish I could credit myself with the intention - but I'll happily take serendipity)

Completed in 1849, Chain Bridge (or Szechenyi Lanchid in Magyar) on Danube River was the first permanent bridge crossing Buda and Pest. On either side of the bridge are two huge towers that support the mammoth chains from which the bridge takes its name. The towers are superbly lit at night, which make the bridge one of the city's most -photographed sights

Chain Rock is in the bottom right, and is topped by a channel light. In World War 2 and extending back a few hundred years, a chain was stretched across the Narrows to protect the harbour from incoming enemy vessels. To the left of Chain Rock (not quite in this image) is the Chain Rock Battery, also used in more than one war.

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge was the first permanent stone-bridge connecting Pest and Buda, and only the second permanent crossing on the whole length of the river Danube. It is one of the symbolic buildings of Budapest, the most widely known bridge of the Hungarian capital.
