I was playing around with Photoshop tonight and I wanted to try something a little different. I have already posted a similar cemetery shot but I wanted something with more mood. Have a great day!

Resting under the ginkgo leaves at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.

more fun with my cemetery shots. the texture here is by cliffordsax. flickr.com/photos/cliffordsax/2799257665/
i decided to have fun with this one. this is another cemetery shot from today's trip. the texture is by ghostbones. the minion was shot seperately and placed in the photo after adjusting colors on the original. the texture was then added on top. i liked it. the plan was to find a cool looking mausoleum and put the tall man in the photo with the minion, but i couldn't find an interesting enough looking one. View Large On Black (view it this way, you'll see more detail)
i have been up since....maybe 1 or 2pm yesterday. couldn't sleep after i came home from work, so i decided to visit a place of rest today. anyway it's sleepy time.
mel signing off.
Spent a few minutes at the cemetery in Fincastle,Va today. Nice HDR weather, I need to get back here when I have a lot of time...it's a goldmine! And what's a cemetery shot without a creepy tree?
Yes, I know I'm putting a large number of cemetery shots up! But the fact is, I love cemeteries and the beautiful art you can find there. And that aside...'tis the season, and all that jazz! ;)
Flags In today at Arlington Cemetery, shot for WUSA 9. Remember those who gave their lives so we can have our freedom.
Often when we drive to the city...the car does not stop at all....but this time my husband stopped every time I wanted ( at least the times I mentioned....) that was wonderful....and here are some shots with colour, on this frosty day.
I was pushing it asking for the cemetery shot...he does not like to stop there....but he did....and I like that colour too!
RSR/BPRR 807 leads a one car BT-3 over one of the famous trestles in Chicora, PA. One of the most popular spots to capture the Petrolia Local on its trip back to Butler is the "Cemetery Shot" overlooking the town. On this day, November 10, Veterans Day was an observed holiday. The American Flags you see waiving are but a fraction of the hundreds flying around the cemetery. Each flag had a plaque on the bottom showing which conflict that person served in. Many who are laid to rest here served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Naturally, I took time to pay my respects to my fallen brothers in arms while waiting for the BT-3 to show up.
Week 22/52
I was long overdue for a visit to Mount Pleasant Cemetery, so I was glad to get an opportunity to go with my Flickr friend Greg. He knows the cemetery well and I got to explore some new things there. Mount Pleasant Cemetery opened in 1876 and is the final resting place for many important Canadians.
This picture was taken inside the Mount Pleasant Mausoleum, which I had never been inside before. I liked the lighting and the lines. Once you step inside, the artificial light comes on and, from a photographic point-of-view, becomes less interesting.
This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Street Snap.” Although I do like street photography, I decided to go with my cemetery shots for this week.
It stopped raining about 12:00 today...I quickly drove to York to get some cemetery shots. It started raining again when I was driving home. Thanks, vacation gods!
Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, Pennsylvania. (the half that I've never covered)
Explored: Jun 2, 2010 #222. Thanks to everybody who helped get it there :)
Some nice layered clouds formed in the sky this afternoon. As I left work I just knew I had to get out and shoot something. This was taken at a little pond in the 'Albany Creek Memorial Gardens and Cemetery'.
Shot with a Canon EOS 40D, Sigma 10-20mm and 0.9 hard grad.

I have long admired the very poignant B&W cemetery shots by Austin photographer Donny Tidmore so when I came upon this overgrown rural cemetery in the Hill Country, I decided to stop and give it a try. Check out Donny's beautiful work here: www.flickr.com/photos/mynamesdonny/. (Mine isn't up to his standards by any means! LOL)

Still going through a few from last week's shoot at the National Cemetery. I filled up a 2 GB memory card (about 150 shots) this particular morning. Only a few were keepers though. The light rain/heavy mist kept me pre-occupied with keeping the camera dry, resulting in my botching of more than a few shots. Aside from the occassional shot like this, I am discovering that wide angle cemetery shots are very difficult to compose - for me anyway. Just too many distracting elements. I've got some more telephoto shots on the way.
Let me know what you think of this.
God know I don't want to be an angel...

Photo taken at the cemetery in Braunschweig.
This shot is dedicated to two fantastic photographers. First melquiades1898 and his amazing cemetery shots and second to renquedochan the master of textures.
So this work should be a mix of both of them. :-)
Lyrics
Music
PLAY LOUD!!!
Just a few more pictures from my visit to this cemetery.
Mount Hope Cemetery is Toronto’s fifth Catholic Cemetery and is located Northeast of Yonge & Eglinton. I visited it for the first time about four years ago, but hadn’t gotten a chance go go back until this weekend. Although not as large as Mount Pleasant, it’s still a good size and is quite beautiful. I took a lot of shots and it was difficult to narrow down my selection. I will definitely be going back when I get the chance.
This is an alternate view of my favourite angel statue in this cemetery. I took pictures at the cemetery with my SLR and a 50mm lens as well as my Fujifilm X100S. This is the only Fuji shot I am posting. I think I prefer the 50mm for cemetery shots.
Watercolour and gouache on 140 lb. Arches cold press paper.
This was painted just for fun. I love the raven or crow as a symbol of something mysterious and sinister (poor thing), and I have quite a few cemetery shots from old churches I have visited, so decided to combine the two. I don't know if you can detect it clearly, but the flying bird is carrying a key, hence the title.
Giant Redwood trees in Brookwood Cemetery shot with HorizonT Russian panoramic camera and expired film , that was destroyed in household cleaner and silica gel
Elmwood Cemetery is a 168.46-acre cemetery in Columbia established in 1854. Elmwood Cemetery is a good representation of the principles of the aesthetic traditions of both the rural and lawn-park cemetery movements in its plan, landscaping and gravemarkers. Gravemarkers are varied, including flush stones, tablets, headstones, mausoleums, ledgers, and obelisks. The “old cemetery” or southern section of Elmwood Cemetery is an example of a “rural cemetery.” The intent was to create a picturesque landscape. The old section is visually distinct from the newer northern section. The former is more heavily wooded and with larger gravemarkers. It also includes an area devoted to Confederate dead, taking on the appearance of a military cemetery. Elmwood Cemetery is a designed landscape. Cultural features include a drive, fencing, buildings, a rostrum, a wrought iron archway, and markers. Listed in the National Register September 6, 1996.
This tree is amazing, and no cemetery shot would be complete without a(n) (ironic) texture by SkeletalMess.
#74 Cemetery
I find it very hard not to process my cemetery shots in black and white, it just seems to fit.
breaking 'the rules' here a bit, odd numbers are supposed to work better in photographs.
I went for evens.
rules are made to be broken :)
Highgate Cemetery - West
Chinese Cemetery (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Taken near to the tomb marker of my late granddad’s sister. Initially, I was not intended to post any cemetery shot but since this is not a close-up view of the tombs, so I think this far-view shot is in a pretty respectful manner to the deaths. I posted it for remembering this year’s outing with my family members on Qingming Festival.
