With torential rains forecast I opted to carry only the cell phone and was treated to this beauty!

Wishing all my flickr contact/friends a very Happy Holiday season. May you all be blessed and safe this holiday season.

Many super hugs,

The lack of clarity in the details when using my cell phone gives the scenery a rather painterly effect - not displeasing but I would have preferred to have my "real" camera with me! It also struggled a bit with the lighting but all in all not bad for a phone!

Here's my other favorite from my 2mp cell camera days. This is in Lancaster County PA, and there's this cool row of trees, and an amazing sunrise that morning. I could have done better compositionally, but it's an amazing scene regardless. Enjoy!

It has a huge impact in people’s social lives, people are getting more disconnected to the real world, they put their phones ahead of human interaction, it’s getting harder to see people talking to each other in public places, they’re always too busy with their mobile devices, checking notifications, sending messages, taking photos or just sharing a new video. It’s like an addiction, and it is kind of turning people into zombies.

Of course it still brings many benefits to our modern society, but when it reaches a certain point it starts being harmful, time consuming, counterproductive and even dangerous.

Ah! Flip phone! Though I never have one but this brings a lot of memories, not to mention the long debate which one is better between flip and bar style…LOL, anyway I really have fun playing the flip feature here with my 2 sons :)

Almost everyone in London seemed to have a cell phone of one kind or other. It was therefore quite surprising to observe so many venerable old style phone booths still around. Other than making for handy rain shelters, can't imagine how they are cost justified. They are rather attractive reminders of the past, however.

Trying to see how good a shot I can get with my cell phone over the next week or so. It is the ill fated Microsoft Kin one. It does have a 5MP camera with image stabilization and F/2.8 aperture

Just returned from a week in paradise... Eastern Oregon that is. Many of my favorite spots on Planet Earth are right in my backyard, and I'm sorry to say that it's been years since I've paid them a visit. So I scheduled a week off, rented a couple of lenses that I can't afford, spent hours planning, and finally headed off to Oregon's dry side.

Now about these photos. Despite having several thousand dollars worth of glass and my new D700 in tow some of my favorite photos were taken with my cell phone. I've featured three of them here. Why doesn't Apple advertise the iPhone as a great camera for landscape photography? It has an incredible depth of field (as evidenced by the shot on the right) and still fits right in your pocket! The 'tap to focus' feature really helped here, I put it right at the hyperfocal distance :) I should also mention that these were all hand held.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Another cell phone theme shot. Of course it is hard now days to snap a picture of someone without one of these things in their hand.
