Another design classic never to leave the shores of Japan. Why they get all the best cars for themselves I'll never know.
It costs a few thousand to ship each one of these beauties over on top of the sale price but people still do as there's nothing close over here.
Boston Police Movie Cars, film or tv show unknown. Found at Anderson Automotive in Arlington, MA. Also found in the garage was a very realistic MSP Crown VIctoria, so realistic I couldn't tell whether it was a true MSP unit. Interesting to note is the fact that the lettering schemes seem to change correctly with the age of the vehicle.
A friend's recent purchase, 1961 DKW/Auto Union "Universal" station wagon, he got it through a local scrapyard

Just got back in from our little rolling shot photo shoot. It's a pretty nice day here today but quite chilly when you are standing up through the sun roof and taking pictures!
This is the rig that my buddy Pat made up last week. He is proudly displaying the Canon logo from the strap:-)
My crappy old Nikon D200 is just laying on the roof to show the Gorilla pod I used to shoot from the roof. The best shots from that turned out to be from just standing to get a higher PoV though.
We shot the Canon pointing forward as seen here and shooting back also. Got a few real keepers I think even though there aren't any leaves on the ground yet. I'm just heading home right now and will post up a few later on tonight when I get home. Just wanted to give you an idea of what the hell I was up to today. Not that you really care;-)
Pat also built a small mount to get the classic Toni_V point of view from inside the car near the drivers left ear. Check my first post in this series to see what I mean and also the link to Toni_V's awesome photostream!
Still unsure about my info on this car. I have never seen or even heard of this era Colt before. Salisbury

DSC00256 I took this picture in Italy in 2000. I saw a few of these vehicles there and thought they were really COOL at the time.
Now, with gas prices up, I think it is time they were available in the US!
It isn't just love for the design now, but desire for better mileage!
Japan (Toyota) has the Prius, Germany (DaimlerChrysler) has the Smart Car - it is a shame that US automakers (GM, Ford) fight building fuel efficient and innovative small cars.
