Here is one of the trackside shots from Saturday night at the Nitro Funny Car round at Quit Motorplex in Perth. Try it large or really large.
It was a learning exercise in manual exposure. These things are doing 100 mph within the first second, so you only get 1 chance to get the shot right. Particularly when the 7000 wild horses are unleashed with the extreme noise, air shutter and vibrations literally knocking you off your feet. Then being able to think when the huge dose of adrenalin hits!
Huge thanks to the Best Tractor Parts team of Damien, Paul, Tim, Trev, Richard, Micko, Steve, Dean, Grant and in particular Julie, who invited me along and arranged the access for weekend. The team were super professional, accessible, welcoming, patient and bloody fast!
Big congrats on winning the weekend, getting a personal best of 5.14 seconds and setting the fastest top speed by an Australian car at 481.1 kmh!
Another one taken in jpg (I still don't know what's happened).
Don't you feel that 70's look?

The car rides like a sled and the suspension is STIFF..aka riding tests your butt. The car was rebuilt in a 2 year's by the owner whom is also a mechanic, turned tour operator. The trip to Havana is about 3 hours one way with two stops to stretch and admire all the other cars like "show n shine".
The guide whom spoke very good English and was our translator with the driver whom is his very best friend and they send a lot time together making trips everyday to Havana.
The trip was 40 cuban pesos or CDN $50 each and a meal at 20 cuban or CDN $20 and this also included our driver + guide..This is better than a bus tour, because you go where you want.
