Thailand suffered another disaster two days ago when a court dissolved the third most popular political party and cancelled the votes of 6 million mostly young people. People are predicting a period of political instability will follow as these people have vowed not to take this quietly.
The Bougainville campaign was a series of battles on the island of Bougainville between 1943-1945. This was part of the allies strategy in the South pacific. The first series involved the US in November 1943-November 1944 when the US invaded the island. The second phase involved Australian troops doing mop up work killing off the last amount of Japanese between November 1944-August 1945. Here you see US troops fighting the Japanese in an occupied village.

Photographic Society of Madras, a 150+ years old photo club in Chennai, organised a photowalk on a Car Free Sunday at BesantNagar, Chennai. There many life saving and health awareness campaigns were going on and the above image captured while the public were taught the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation technique. Even the slum children showed keen interest. More than understanding the technique the message would reach the base level people.
