This is probably one of the coolest cameras I've ever bought. It's stylish, retro and yeah, the image quality is great! :-)
Much heavier and more solid than I expected. Lenses are unbranded but seem really good. Maybe Tominon? Camera is made in Japan.
Camera spun with slow shutter in negative.

Be sure to view large...there's lots of fun light specks in her lens!
I had lots of fun out last night for a friday wind down with Leilani, aka Heavenly Flower. I got lots of pictures, but this was the most fun part. Standing on what seemed to be the busiest corner of downtown Lawrence, we took photos of each other taking photos...something only us photo dorks could understand as we heard the people around us remarking and teasing and expressing their confusion at what we were doing! It was a blast, a silly one, but still a blast. We always have such great photo talks and flickr talks about what we want our streams to be like, but something we both agreed on last night was that if we like it, its in our stream, regardless of what we think others will think. I do appreciate that about her!
Expect a lot from me today; I'm home with my foot up because I may have broken or sprained my toe last night before I went to bed. I'm SO mad that this happened on a weekend when it is so nice and I'd planned to be out all day...now I can hardly walk!
The pillow boxes were recycled pages from a photography book. Baubcat wanted each of these cameras. Too bad I didn't have any for him. I bet they are still great cameras.
Cute little SLR from 1977. Top shutter speed of 1/1500s!!! Comes with an excellent f1.9 55mm Fujinon lens. Open aperture metering. 2 x SR44 batteries. M42 mount. :)
A lot of people forget that Fuji used to make their own SLRs. Their Fujinon lenses were some of the best glass ever made!! People dismiss Fujica as being 'toy-like' and opt more for Asahi Pentaxes but all that means is low prices for Fujicas :) The viewfinder is meant to be one of the brightest of SLRs and the open aperture metering is quite revolutionary at the time. We shall see....
...and snapped a few photos.
"I've got a camera just like this at home," she said.
(ka-chink, advance film. ka-chink, advance film.)
She felt right at home and looked the part too. I suddenly felt shy as she aimed the camera at me. We both laughed. A few minutes later our salads arrived and we put our toys away.

I've found that the best advice I can give other people about taking kids portraits is to simply stand around and watch them interact without interfering.....and to be ready with your lens when a spontaneous moment occurs.
A colleague loaned this camera to me for a few months to give it a go. He made it himself, as he had the Ross lens, which apparently was used in WW2 for aerial photography. The lens has aperture settings, but there is no shutter or variable focus, and composition is handled through a plastic plate at the back.
I'm really looking forward to trying it out.
It took me years to assemble this kit, and just about the time I got it all together I went digital. –sigh–
Yes, the face is upside-down. Notice the image on the instruction manual. The camera's face on this camera is not assembled incorrectly, the rear side matches to the levers and indents as designed. Perhaps an early model? Odd, very odd. Took 127 film. The shutter on this example is non-functional. PC for broken.
APS-C mirrorless camera. Autofocus became faster.

At work, I shoot mostly in the studio. Here is my gear for my personal work. I usually just carry one camera body and a couple of lenses and a flash at a time depending on what i plan to shoot. I also use different bags depending on what I want to put in it.
For my portable lighting gear:
These photographs were taken with an analog single lens reflex camera.
I felt an analog camera fresh.
I became happy feelings while scanning these photographs.
Tomorrow is my birthday.
I will put out box of Blythe from among my collection.
I will open the box.
It's a birthday present to me.
Looking through some old shots. With my site now set up, i'm goingto start using flickr for everything i take and like.

I've always found it a little odd the way that people with cameras react to having their picture taken. whether it's a news crew, or a store security camera, or just another photog, usually it's a defensive reaction. I love it when another photographer takes my picture when I've got my camera. seems like a sign of respect.
