The full book ripper in use. The work light above provides reasonable light for photographing pages, as long as you put it up high enough to keep any glare spots off of the page area.

In case you didn't notice by the picture, I chose an appropriated title ;)
Almost all of those are my books. Some serious science fiction books belong to André and my English aren't good enough to read them. So, it's easy to guess where they are. There are even more box in a big trunk and a small and large shelf (only with Andre's books).
Unfortunately not all the books are organized in DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification), specially on the small shelf next to the wall right on the first picture. Actually that self is a big mess :| I need to save some time to organize the books again.
The shelf on the second picture is half a mess / half organized. The cook books stay together to find them easier. There are also some of the books I need to sit and read and some few I didn't have time to organize :|
There are even more books in a pile next to my bed that I got in the past weeks and I need to read (travel and cooking books), and the books I'm reading. André also has several books which are not even catalogued 9 www.librarything.com/profile/Bibi & www.anobii.com/bibi/books), since he keeps them on his Kindle.
Yes, I love my books, and I'm always open if you want to donate more nice books to me ;)
Ps.: I'm also donating some old programming & internet books, and books I will never read, but they aren't on those selves. :P
so many books! so many magazines!
things without notes, like mysteries of pittsburgh, curious incident of the dog in the night time, and the making of the metallica movie, i have already read.

I have not read "The Alchemist" but the description below highlights one theme from the book.
I relate to the book as to the twists and turns I encountered during my teen to early twenties. It is strange how my first job at a bank turned into a career at a credit union. I have spent over 25 years in the financial business. Coming home to our quiet home and non-drama family is great.
This is not my home but the home of a single young man, Mike, I have know for 20 years. He has found contentment in his farming life and I'm proud to see him living his dream.
Fate Vs. Will
Fate is constantly intertwined with will, and a key theme of the book focuses on how much in life is under one's control, and how much is controlled by fate. The old king states that the world's greatest lie is that "at some point during our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate." While this point of view strongly supports that will has a stronger hold on one's destiny, later events, such as Santiago and the alchemist being caught by warring tribes, demonstrate fate's hold on one's life. However, in every situation where fate does take over, the characters are capable to extricate themselves from the situation. For instance, after being caught by the tribal chief, Santiago is able to turn himself into the wind, demonstrate his power, and is released.
Hope this fits the TaCwD&D assignment.
Assignment 1. Book Cover. We’ve done the book cover assignment before, but this will be different. I love how we all come up with such different ideas for these assignments, and so this week I want to test that. Design a book cover for Paolo Coehlo’s “The Alchemist.” This book is well loved around the world and I figure many of you know it. For those who haven’t read it, here is a link to the Wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alchemist_%28novel%29
Will your cover have a favorite scene? A literal interpretation from the book? Something a bit more obscure? With a well defined objective I’m eager to see how many different interpretations we come up with. If you do only one assignment this week, do this one. Tag with cwd621.

Handmade book based on Battlestar Galactica. Book 128 of a 365 Challenge. Blogged at: craftyminimeg.blogspot.com/2013/06/battlestar-galactica-b...
I was asked to show my library of identification books. These are the main users. My small spider books, insects and plants books.
My collection of D&D books. You'd think with that many books I'd be some amazing DM, but I'm pretty mediocre. I just like to collect them. I mainly focus on the core books and the Forgotten Realms books.
