#Pairing - book and pencil
La fede che intendo io non si può facilmente tradurre in parole. Si potrebbe all′incirca definirla cosi: credo che nonostante la palese assurdità, la vita abbia nondimeno un senso; io mi rassegno a non poter comprendere questo senso supremo con l′intelletto, ma sono pronto a servirlo, dovessi anche per questo sacrificare me stesso. Percepisco dentro di me la voce di questo senso nei momenti in cui sono realmente vivo e perfettamente sveglio. Ciò che la vita da me richiede in quei momenti voglio cercare di realizzarlo, anche se è cosa che va contro le mode e le leggi consuete. The Parthenon of Books by artist Marta Minujín is a decisive symbol of resistance to any banning of writings and the persecution of their authors. As many as 100,000 formerly or currently banned books from all over the world are needed to create the work on Friedrichsplatz in Kassel, where, on May 19, 1933, some 2,000 books were burned by the Nazis during the so-called “Aktion wider den undeutschen Geist” (Campaign against the Un-German Spirit). In 1941, the Fridericianum—which was being used as a library at the time—was engulfed in flames during an Allied bombing attack, and another collection of about 350,000 books was lost. The assignment for Flickr Bingo group was Childrens Book. The first thing I thought of was Winnie the Pooh and then the statue I have of Pooh and Tigger reading, so the perfect combination! :)
this evening the last sunbeam fell on the books.
When you go get your camera you find out how fast the earth really turns ;-)

most of you probably remember my aunt debbie
anyway, the book is going in for it's second publishing thanks to a great response! :)
and the publishing company that she created is called "Harmony Publications, LLC". ....soooo....when she saw the rock in my pond said "harmony" she went bonkers and said she'd love a picture w/it to put in her book under the name Harmony Publications. so i went out on a mission to find mister big pond frog in hopes that he would be my gracious model.
well....he wasn't so gracious at first. it was a hard day of work for me because he was quite the "diva".
i got the water hyacinths all around the rock to make it look pretty. all i needed was my model. i found him. i chased him around the pond for a good 15 minutes until he jumped out of the pond and then i proceeded to chase him around my backyard for about 20 minutes. finally i caught him (slipper sucker) and placed him nicely in the setting. his big fat hand was covering the H and the little jerk had ripped a piece of my hair out and it was draped over the rock like yesterdays laundry.
damn! so i talked calmly to him and told him i was going to remove the hair and move his cute little foot. luckily he let me do all of this and i was able to snap this picture!
