Old books, with proper dust jackets. What could be better? Sadly, these are not mine but part of the decor at Guildford's Pizza Express.
view on the first floor of the shakespeare and co bookstore in paris
it is situated just near the notre dame cathedral
they are incredibly welcoming, there are several beds like the one in this shot which are reserved for travellers who need them!
the bed in the shot was my friend fionas when the bookstore took her in!

i'm an e-reader holdout. i like the feel of a book in my hands. i love turning the textured pages and seeing printed words. books soothe me not only with their phrases, characters, and stories, but with their heft.
ps: i'm also completely in love with the public library.

A prairie location (see Art Historian) I've grow particularly fanciful of is just twenty-five minutes from city centre, the entire collection of weathered buildings and rusted farm memories is the perfect camera playground, so often I've felt like I discovered my own agricultural historical movie set.
I wanted to incorporate (see link) this particular image from ms.bailey's photo-stream into the continuity of my own wishful thinking, thanks Mary. I'm often fascinated by the amalgamation of realistic physical places that collide with random dissimilar images and memories.

I have a soap box filled with ideas for this location, with some lathered luck the snow will remain silent for a couple more Sundays. Have an awesome weekend everyone.

I have been a non-stop spring cleaning machine lately and this was a pic I took just after removing EVERY last one of those books off the shelves to dust and the books had been freshly put back.
My little Sadie of course decided to worm her way into the shot. :)
This was made utilizing a template (book) and a tutorial from the November 2011 issue of Digital Photo, which is a UK magazine. Photo of horses and sky are mine.
Books are not made for furniture, but there is nothing else that so beautifully furnishes a house.
~Henry Ward Beecher
"There are books so alive that you ´re afraid that while you weren´t reading the book has gone and changed, has shifted like a river ; while you went to living , it went to living too, and like a river moved on and moved away.No one has stepped twice in the same river. But did anyone ever step twice into the same book?

Those on the left are the books I bought in the month of January (though the first Percy Jackson book is being loaned to a friend, but still should be in this stack). The two books on the right are the beginning of the February books.
This is how I spend my money.
Five more years, you'll be able to find me living in a refrigerator box in an alley.
The book of love has music in it,
In fact that's where music comes from.
Some of it is just transcendental,
Some of it is just really dumb.
But I,
I love it when you sing to me.
And you,
You can sing me anything.

Muqueuses, c’est la rencontre. Deux corps étrangers qui fusionnent dans une effusion de liquides corporels. Aussi irritant qu’indélébile. Maquillage-rituel avec du Curaçao bleu, un alcool qui tient lieu de salive.
Mucosa is the encounter. Two foreign bodies merge in an outpouring of body fluids. Irritating and permanent. Makeup-ritual with blue curacao, alcohol in lieu of saliva.
For seeing all the project and buying my first book
“Chambres” is the result of a long reflection on the opportunities and challenges of the implementation of performance poetry towards the medium of the book. By opting for photography, the authors were able to create environments and places for poems, and to give them a physical space to grow. The poem, in this perspective, is ultimately placed somewhere between photos and texts in these rooms, domestic spaces whose daily violence as whose of sexuality fight to escape.
