Good morning. Just a single posting of an Eastern Tailed Blue (Everes comyntas) butterfly with it's wings opened. For anyone familar with these tiny butterflies you know it's extremely unusual for one to open its wings when perched. And it's even more difficult to get a shot of one when it does since it's only for a brief second or two. And for a more common side shot of Eastern Tailed Blues please see below link:

Take care...and I hope everyone has a great Saturday and weekend.

ISO200, aperture f/5.6, exposure .004 seconds (1/250) focal length 240mm

Been out of Flickr world lately......These blue daisies are for you, my dear Flickr friends! Have a great day/evening!

I finally got my perfect title for this image, with big thanks to Lance Eckles aka Texan Finn.

"Learnin' The Blues" is a 1955 popular song by Dolores Vicki Silvers. The best-known version of the song was recorded by Frank Sinatra in the 50s, which peaked #2 at the Billboard charts. He re-recorded the song for his 1962 album, Sinatra-Basie.

If you want to listen to Frank Sinatra :

I also found another version by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong:

Have a Wonderful Wednesday my friends!

Looks better in the large format.

I had a major problem with privacy settings on my sets. This image (and some others) LOST ALL FAVes. Unfortunately Flickr support refused and were unable to solve the problem :(

My sincere apologies to all flickr members and groups that added this picture.

I was driving by the Blue Lagoon the other day and this was the view that greeted me, I thought it would make for an ok photograph. I am not sure but I think that "star" in the upper right corner is Venus.

Used a Polarizer.

Taken at Vaulen just outside of Stavanger City an early cold morning.

The kids have to wait until summer to play in the water.

(Cropped).. A "Common Blue" Polyommatus icarus.. butterfly.. enjoying the sun.. HBM..!!

Have a great day.. thank for all your support.. NO multi invites please..

The Brain—is wider than the Sky—

For—put them side by side—

The one the other will contain

With ease—and You—beside—

The Brain is deeper than the sea—

For—hold them—Blue to Blue—

The one the other will absorb—

As Sponges—Buckets—do—

The Brain is just the weight of God—

For—Heft them—Pound for Pound—

And they will differ—if they do—

As Syllable from Sound—

A forget-me-not in this morning's sunshine in Dublin.

The new flickr layout, despite being a lot easier to use than the previous version, has one really maddening thing for those who post to groups - It uses people's real names in comments, rather than their unique screen names which are still on their shots in contact pages. So if their real name is different from their screen name it is very time-consuming to find out who actually gave the comment.....there are dozens of Johns, Joses, Marias, Marys etc.

So I have reverted to the Spanish version.

Decided a quick visit to Folkestone sands to catch the sunrise before the sea mist rolled in.

A blue morning was what I found and the sea mist never came :~)

Blue is Blue by Frank Sinatra

Blue, blue, my world is blue

Blue is my world now I'm without you

Gray, gray, my life is gray

Cold is my heart since you went away

When we met how the bright sun shone

Then love died, now the rainbow is gone

Black, black, the nights I've known

Longing for you so lost and alone

Gone, gone, the love we knew

Blue is my world now I'm without you.

a bright blue translucent flower to take away your blue monday....

have a bluetiful monday!

Reflections on a sunny day in Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin.

Yet another re-posting of this shot... It is one of my earliest photos that I deemed worth keeping, and still one of my personal favorites, and I just like seeing it on the front page of my photostream. So here we go again...

Blue river - a misty morning on the Dodder at Orwell Bridge, Dublin

I'm still waiting to get my glasses back from the opticians....and really can't see to read and write type so I will just be faving.

Gondolas in Venice on a cloudy day, Italy.

We visited our country hut for the weekend and there were some more spring flowers out. These are the tiny flowers of some variety of Scilla -I think they are the most wonderful shade of blue.

I always wanted to be a painter, I guess I still do .......

I'm leaving for a trip today, and will be back next Sunday.

After three years of trying to get to Broken Top I finally was able to make the trip a few weeks back. After three days of shooting the place is now my favorite high mountain area to shoot in Oregon. I already have some plans for different locations and shots for next year. Here's my favorite from the trip- a melt pool reflection of a half moon rising through a notch in Broken Top's rotten summit crags. Thanks for Brian Kibbons for a great trip!

Now on FB (where I've been more active than here on Flickr as of late):

Blue hour in Bar Harbor, Maine. About 45 minutes after sunset on a cloudy evening that had rain showers move through. Captured this after eating some nice ice cream.
