At Galveston Texas.

Even if for a fleeting moment, blue skies did appear last weekend. I was always told to keep the camera ready in case a photo op arised on short notice...in this case, the appearance of blue sky for a few moments was that "short notice" photo op. It's been so grey here for over three weeks, that I sometimes forget there is colour above all those low lying clouds.

EDIT: Most of you saw the same as me :) I noticed a flying pig too - thanks for all the other interpretations. It's great to see the variety of perception

If you see a strange gradient in the sky (with steps) it may be your display. At home on my Eizo it looks great, but here at work on a normal TN-Panel Display i can see color steps :(

All day long I´am waiting for this moment on 'Lake Starnberg' (German: 'Starnberger See'), Germany, time of natural spectacle as it is now, I am waiting for one's opportunity. The landscape looks like black, more and more lights in the small town Starnberg are going on. I see the fantastic dark blue in the sky and great red reflections on the water.. how fire.. That's just the ticket for me and I shot this picture from Bavarian wonderland. ;-)

I find myself singing this song a lot now that all the snow and ice are gone after 6 months of winter. When I see clouds and a blue sky like this I go to one of the 150 lakes within ten miles of my home and gaze at the beauty Mother Nature provides for me.

Southern Alberta railroad tracks under blue skies. We stopped to give V a break. She is 2.5 yrs and riding in the car for endless hours is getting pretty old, so we try to let her out when we can. This provides Dad with the opportunity to find the nearest subject.

5 exposure HDR.

After the storm we had beautiful blue sky with fluffy white clouds.

Blue skies and blue Shard on the Thames River. This was taken right before the lasers where turned on, but before the put the Olympic symbols up for the night. This was also the night before the opening laser show on the Shard.

For my final blue theme shot - I had to make sure to include a blue sky. It may be only a sliver on the horizon but works well with the fence Friday theme as well!

I thought I would post something vastly different from the regular stuff, and share a photo reflective of my own personal mood currently.

This photo is the latest from my personal "Psycheography" project, and was my tribute to welcome the Spring season. I have never been happier to see Winter conclude, particularly in the metaphorical sense. Ironically, this photo was captured on the very last day of Winter at Solstice Park in Seattle.

If you were in Seattle that day, you remember this day well. You were very likely out and about that day, soaking in the sunshine, capturing your own images, and happily accepting (or contributing to) the traffic congesting the scenic routes all around the city. It was just a gorgeous day to be outside, alive, and grateful.
