Neuschwanstein is simply an Icon. One of the most photographed subjects in the world. So much has also already been written about Neuschwanstein that I am not going to add any more here.
I had to wait for 30 minutes for it to clear this much. Most of that time, it was completely shrouded in the fog.
When the mists parted, this old yet new Schloss silently materialized.
I heavily processed this on purpose because I think it befits the Castle and its creator who was, if anything, dramatic.

The Palace of Charles V is a Renaissance building in Granada, southern Spain, located on the top of the hill of the Assabica, inside the Nasrid fortification of the Alhambra. The building has never been a home to a monarch and stood roofless until 1957.[1][2]
The structure was commanded by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, who wished to establish his residence close to the Alhambra palaces. Although the Catholic Monarchs had already altered some rooms of the Alhambra after the conquest of the city in 1492, Charles V intended to construct a permanent residence befitting an emperor. The project was given to Pedro Machuca, an architect whose biography and influences are poorly understood. At the time, Spanish architecture was immersed in the Plateresque style, still with traces of Gothic origin. Machuca built a palace corresponding stylistically to Mannerism, a mode still in its infancy in Italy. The exterior of the building uses a typically Renaissance combination of rustication on the lower level and ashlar on the upper. Even if accounts that place Machuca in the atelier of Michelangelo are accepted, at the time of the construction of the palace in 1527 the latter had yet to design the majority of his architectural works.
This is one of the windows in the Hacienda on the ranch, and I just liked the way the light played across it.

1. The Temple of Hephaestus or Hephaisteion or earlier as the Theseion, is a well-preserved Greek temple; it remains standing largely as built. It is a Doric peripteral temple, and is located at the north-west side of the Agora of Athens, on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill. From the 7th century until 1834, it served as the Greek Orthodox church of St. George Akamates.
2. Hephaestus was the patron god of metal working and craftsmanship. There were numerous potters' workshops and metal-working shops in the vicinity of the temple, as befits the temple's honoree. Archaeological evidence suggests that there was no earlier building on the site except for a small sanctuary that was burned when the Persians occupied Athens in 480 BCE. The name Theseion or Temple of Theseus was attributed to the monument under the assumption it housed the remains of the Athenian hero Theseus, brought back to the city from the island of Skyros by Kimon in 475 BCE, but refuted after inscriptions from within the temple associated it firmly with Hephaestus.

It would be nice if the facade of the newly refurbished National Gallery at City Hall could be transformed into a resort style concept... The beautiful reflection of this classic architecture together with a picturesque landscape would be visually stunning befitting that of a national monument as a top tourism draw right in the heart of the city. At night it could be even more enchanting with animated lights & music to enhance the already awesome view.
City Hall will soon be Home of Visual Arts in 2015. That said, it should be presented differently by blending with the nature corridors of Singapore in contrast to just a stale concrete jungle... Could this be the icing on the cake for Singapore Tourism?
Judging by the hits and faves in comparison, it looks like the resort concept is a clear winner...

Fishing Bridge crowns the northern tip of Yellowstone Lake, the country's largest high-elevation lake at a little more than 7,700 feet. Fishing Bridge gains its name from a 1902 bridge that once served as Yellowstone's most popular angling location. During Yellowstone's early history crowds of fishermen would inundate this small fishing hole, which was popular for cutthroat trout. Fishing is now limited to "catch and release" recreation. A National Historic Landmark building that is now a prototype for many NPS visitor facilities across the country houses the area's visitor center and a bird museum. Camping at Fishing Bridge is limited to RV-camping for hard-sided vehicles. Bear activity in the area of the lake makes tent-camping impractical. Two hotels are located at nearby Lake Village, including the Lake Yellowstone Hotel, erected by Pacific Railroad in 1891. The ornate Colonial architecture, which was designed by architect Robert C. Reamer (known for his design of the inn at Old Faithful), is evidence of Yellowstone's increasing popularity through the years: In 1903 Reamer was hired to transform the original, rudimentary railroad structure into a destination hotel more befitting Yellowstone's early 20th century popularity. The hotel has received several subsequent upgrades and is still one of the park's more popular hotel destinations. The area surrounding Fishing Bridge is, like many parts of Yellowstone, a jumble of historic and natural wonders. It also is the site of one of Yellowstone's most recent volcanic eruptions some 600,000 years ago. There are a number of trails and natural attractions in the area: Natural Bridge, an outcropping of rhyolite lava that was carved by erosion thousands of years ago can be reached by trail from Bridge Bay. We learnt from one of them that the inhabitants of such hamlets and houses, have to go down to that river for their water at certain times of the year. Winter. My lesser half and I do enjoy this time of the year too much. The climate is great for keeping new doll parts protected from prying eyes without much hassle on our part. They often end up taking too much space in the house and that is very annoying. However, not all is perfect with what the winter season brings. The wretched holidays that accompany its perks are dull and painfully disappointing at the least.
Presents from family and friends alike never reached our standards. First we pondered on punishments befitting the grand level of dismay we had been caused. Eventually we settled on a simple fact. It was one that we should have realized from the start. Who could make better presents for us than ourselves? We needed a new doll anyways. One better than the rest. The months that followed this brilliant conclusion were greatly entertaining for both of us, and to my annoyance Dreary thought herself to be the better half at times. Well, whatever fantasy keeps her going I suppose.

The original is a zoomed out reflection of myself in a ferry window, with a mountain range in the background (you can see part of the mountain range in the top right corner--what looks like a hat is actually the sky). I thought the image could work for the "Dreams" project, but when I paired it with Sarah's, the literalness of both images didn't quite work--especially because Sarah's image was far more dynamic tonally. So I decided to take mine into more of a fantasy realm, befitting of the theme. (I'll post a separate entry of the before and after, in case anyone is interested.)

He also tackles hills and trails and slippery rocks with speed that would make Superman pee his pants...and he does it in flip flops. Then he smokes a cigarette. Or three. (**sigh** Who said 'Youth is wasted on the young?')
Amazing guy, this Wilco (pronounced "VIL-ko.) Here he is being asked questions by three people at a time before making six km hike along the beach and into the forest.
The only time he was left alone was when he was on one of those marathon drives across this vast country. Then he plugs in his ancient iPod and listens to Disney tunes as he navigates the roads and rutted paths with unerring precision.
He was offered a new iPod (no names of course) with Ozzy, AC/DC, Led Zep...and other music more befitting a 25 year old...but he politely declined. He likes the Disney tunes better.
He speaks with that smooth South African accent. He teaches us that "now now" means 'Yes, I heard you and I'll get to it...soon." He also teaches us that 'a little hike' CAN mean scrambling over rocks, in unreasonably high winds and along the side of a mountain for miles.
When I was 25, I considered myself a success if I remembered to pull up my fly...and responsible if I could remember where I parked my car.
So here's to you, Wilco. You did a splendid job. We enjoyed having our lives cross with yours. Stay well.
