Asian art has always been a favorite. I've had this concept in mind for the longest time. I finally managed to execute it. Hope you like this!

For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.

Inspired title from the beauty that is Infinity Bridge in Stockton on Tees.
Made Explore #26 27th October 2012.
"Infinity (symbol: ∞) refers to something without any limit, and is a concept relevant in a number of fields, predominantly mathematics and physics.
The English word infinity derives from Latin infinitas, which can be translated as "unboundedness", itself derived from the Greek word apeiros, meaning "endless."

This is an earlier image just when I'd tried out every composition this side of the bridge! I was planning on going back over to where I had started from to try more compositions but as you saw yesterday, I started making some images from on the bridge and then the heavens opened up!
I created this image with three filters on, my favourite two the KOOD ND4, a Lee 0.9 Hard Grad but this time added a Lee 0.6 Soft Grad. I love the feel they give to the image, almost a steely blue with my eyes!

It was only through breaking that the inner beauty of this banded tulip shell was revealed. Notice the spiraled spine inside and the circling bands of color on the outside.
but not everyone sees it.

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4
A little something from my archives. Just uploading something...so you all know that I'm still alive. LOL!

A new piece from a breezy, beautiful shoot with @foxorz, wearing a beautiful creation by @squirrelvscoyote.
I've been thinking about the topic of beauty for the sake of beauty in relation to art. I think, in my desire to grow as an artist, I had been rejecting works of mine that weren't pushing the envelope "enough," existing in a space of merely being pleasing to the eye. But what I've been realizing lately is that beauty for the sake of itself has a place in the art world, and in the world at large. Something beautiful can lift someone's spirits--can remind someone that life is indeed worth living. For me, that's reason aplenty to make something beautiful.
And even in those "simple" pieces that seem to not have much of a message, they are helping me to become a better artist. In the process of making each piece, I am growing--I am learning what works and what doesn't. In the simpler pieces, I may feel emboldened to try a risky technique, or simply to further hone the tools in my tool pouch. My technique is expanding, even when it feels like it isn't. The ability to create freely, without judgement, and to allow myself to *play* is deeply important to me as a person and an artist. When I stifle myself because the work isn't "enough," I hinder my growth.
I didn't realize it until very recently, but when I cut myself off at the pass, I'm adopting a toxic attitude toward myself that is not serving my highest self in the slightest. Mostly what I didn't realize was that my harsh internal criticism was hurting--not helping. I'm the sort of person who believes that I should always be pushing to grow, but that growth can't always come from a place of such harshness. A place that lacks freedom of movement and *play*. The critique must be balanced. Critique is important, YES! But balance is equally as important, on either end of the spectrum.
We never know why someone has created what they chose to create, and social media can muffle and confuse things further. But the fact that people *are* creating, whatever they choose to make, well, that, to me, is making the world a better place. I don't have to like what everyone is making, and I don't always have to like what I've made, either. But artists have a responsibility to themselves and the world to *keep going* no matter what. If we can inspire one another and be inspired, the growth will come, and the art already matters and is already doing its job!
Thank you for flexing my brain on this topic and chatting with me at length about it, @reddwalitzki, @adricknight, @karilise, @casstronaut. Love you all.
all seasons have their own beauty...autumn is beautiful tree covered by yellow, green n red leaves...all color...love it...smells cool as well :-))
beauty of nature
Nature. The most beautiful thing in the world is, precisely, the conjunction of learning and inspiration. Oh, the passion for research and the joy of discovery!
A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Heffala reports it is later afternoon.....Sunday and snowing like crazy. It's really cold and windy. The Queen bulldog's favorite chair and is she catching up on her beauty rest or having dreams? Could Pluto be speaking to her in her dreams?

For the Macro Mondays challenge "Defining Beauty" (August 27th 2018)
Its origin is lost in the mists of time, but the first written appearance was in 3rd century Greek!
It is so true - and yet so very false! Yes I can look at nature, a painting, a photograph, a person and call them beautiful, while another person might disagree. We agree to disagree! But there are much wider social frameworks that shape what we see as beauty. Art is a good place to go looking for society's ever-changing definition of what is beautiful. A simple starting place is how women are depicted, as one constant in the 'beauty' battle is hanging the word round all women's necks (and don't we know it!) From the plump Rubenesque to the boneless Pre-Raphaelite to the pin-thin Art Nouveau, the "beautiful" female form has morphed through the centuries. And the development of Impressionism caused outrage in the 19th Century, as "suitable" painting techniques and subjects were challenged. No-one bought a Van Gogh painting in his lifetime! Famously, in 1877 John Ruskin accused artist James Whistler of 'flinging a pot of paint in the public's face'. "Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket" was the painting, and now we consider it a masterpiece. Defining beauty is a battleground that has never ceased to be fought over with passionate emotions ;o)
Happy Macro Monday ;o)
I chose a macro which shows the beauty in the details you can't see without the help of a macro lens. This tiny 2cm clear marble has a flaw in the glass - or maybe a pontil mark? - that gives unexpected spidery lines that add to the composition. Light and glass working together with the camera lens is such a favourite of mine ;o)

“Beauty is a primeval phenomenon, which itself never makes its appearance, but the reflection of which is visible in a thousand different utterances of the creative mind, and is as various as nature herself.”

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature."
- Anne Frank
