Even though the weather has taken an unusual cool dip yesterday and today -- I am dreaming of beaches again -- the sand, the caw of the gulls, the scent of salt water and leisurely hours. Yep -- dreaming indeed.

Fortunately, our trip went very well yesterday despite the cold and rain. We hit sporatic rain showers all the way to the farm -- but once we arrived, the skies cleared, and we were able to tour the farm, see the goats, chickens, ducks, gardens, enjoy an awesome meal, and then walk around the ornamental grass arboretum. FUN and educational!

We harvest vegetable today and plant more tomatoes and lettuce, and I've a ton of meetings ....

Kuta Beach is a beach located in Kuta. The beach has been notable since early 1970s. Kuta beach is also known as Sunset Beach, as opposed to the Sunrise Beach, another name for Sanur Beach. Luxury resorts, restaurants, and clubs are located along the beach

In 2011, a two-meter white sandstone fence, built in a Balinese architecture style, was built along the road to block the sand from blowing to the cafes and restaurants. The project costed Rp.4 billion ($0.47 million). Some tourists dislike it as it is considered blocking the beach view, while some others believe the wall help dampens the sounds from the congested traffic street. To make the beach cleaner, as of late August 2011, the vendors are prohibited to sell food at the Kuta Beach, but they are still allowed to sell beverages and souvenirs.

My girlfriend wasn't very happy about going to the beach, after I followed her to the pet expo thing she wanted to visit... heh. But I got a couple of pics at least!

Aliso Beach Park features sandy beaches, rocky promontories, and scenic coastal foothills. These geological features combine to form one of the most recreationally appealing areas along the entire California coast. The park consists of two sections, the beach itself and an inland area surrounded by native coastal chaparral. Aliso Creek winds its way down from the Laguna foothills and empties into the sea. A marine life refuge borders to the north and south, rocky outcroppings clearly mark the park boundary. These features plus the congenial Southern California climate make Aliso Beach Park an ideal place to visit.

We happen to get to Maine right before sunset in our last trip , just in time to appreciate the colors of Maine.

Each beach on Zanzibar seemed to have its own mood when I visited. On this beach on the northern part of the island, one or two people were hunting for shell fish or just resting. A small simple dhow was just floating, in the beautiful turquoise water of the Indian Ocean.

This is Montana Roja, a 171m high coastal volcano, which affords a sweeping panorama of the South East of the island from its summit. It's also a protected special nature reserve, with some cool coastal erosion around its easterly flank.

The sandy beach of Playa La Tejida is one of the more popular beaches on the island, with some nice sand and plenty of photographic potential.
