Gwithian beach long after the sun had set. It was virtually dark, but a long exposure and the last of the sun's rays were enough to light up the sky and wet sand.
Caves beach is just south of Newcastle in NSW. It has some beautiful beaches with as you may have guessed, some caves. Picture taken at sunrise.

Did you notice about your picture colours differ in different computers...??
Especially in CRT and LCD monitor, very different in colours and sharpness.
Could be due to the resolution(pixels), brightness and contrast of the screen.
Latest LCD with super high contrast and resolution tends to cheat our eyes, just like the LCD on our camera. Calibration may be important for a accurate output.

I had the best weather on my recent trip down to Whitley Bay, I was going for a summery feel to this one but still incorporating the usual windy conditions you get on most coastlines. If you look out to the horizon you will see a cruise ship waiting its turn to come in and dock.
Went to Venice Beach last week to find a different pier. The tide as low, so I set the tripod really low. Unfortunately it was a bit too dark and couldn't capture much color on the sand even with the HDR shot. Processed in Phtotomatix using -2, 0 and +2 exposures. Blended in the 0 exposure using a mask, and used several masked curves and sharpening.

Dicky Beach is a suburb of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
The area was named after the iron steamboat, the SS Dicky, which ran aground during heavy seas in 1893.
It was refloated, but again, heavy seas turned the ship about and back onto the sand where it remains to this day. Dicky Beach remains the only recreational beach in the world to be named after a shipwreck.
