Queens Beach on Vatersay, part of the Isle of Barra now that it's linked by a causeway. A roll of white cloud extends across the bay in front of the beach.

A wide, sandy beach at low tide with rock pools and caves for children to explore, Gwithian Towans is a popular family destination at the mouth of the Hayle estuary near St Ives, Cornwall. Access to the beach is via sand dunes from the car park.

Royal Tern strutting its stuff on Bunche Beach....

I was lucky enough to get this shot while the tide had gone out behind me. Leaving the ripple effect in the sand.

On the north side of the Wadden Sea island Terschelling you find the North Sea and a wonderful beach ;-)

Sunset at Tunitas Beach near Half Moon Bay. I had been eyeing this beach for a while. Just south of Half Moon Bay, the climb down to this location was steep and muddy. After several inches of rain I slid most of the way down the clay cliffside - all the while worried how I was going to get back up (the people strolling the beach below made me feel better about that decision though). Someone had secured a rope next the more difficult section which made heading back up easier than coming down.

Castle Rock Beach, Marblehead, MA.

We have been spending some time in Norfolk and kent and I had stop off for a quick visit to Dungeness, This boat was really stuck deep in the shingle so I guess it hasn't been to sea for a while.

The most popular beach in Romblon Island, Bonbon Beach has a long, curving sandbar that stretches all the way to Bangug Island during low tide. On both occasions we were here there were just 3-4 other people on the beach at any one time.

Nice Remote Beach with Dunes.

This was taken at Cabarita in northern NSW on a meet up with Steve, Chris, Soren, Murray and Kush and a few of his mates, Sudhir and Steve I believe. The conditions were great down there, light winds, clean waves and a sprinkling of low clouds. I decided to take a shell with me for something a bit different and am quite happy with how this came out.

I have been enjoying getting out on these meets with great people who share a common interest. Thanks Steve for organising this meet and Soren and Chris for refreshments.

Oh and thanks Captain Larry for the shell :)

Another 4am wake-up and then a 30minute drive from home to this arrive at this beach this morning.

My hopes were for some sunrise colour to accompany the low tide and rocky platform here; but these hopes were trashed as there was a thick low level blanket of moist-laden fog everywhere!!

At least I still had some moss covered rocks, waves and the beach pretty much to myself (you might notice a couple of figures towards the other end of the rockshelf).

It's still great to be out in the fresh air, (wiping the spray and moisture off the filters :-) ) listening to the waves break onto the beach and rocks, and cool air temperature (before an expected high of 39C!!).

Hope you like the views - thanks again for any comments, views or favorites for this or any of my other images - much appreciated!!

Something a bit different from me. What do you think?

The beautiful beach at Arromanches-les-Bains, Normandy, France, from our family holiday last June.

It's hard to believe now that this was one of the main landing beaches on D-Day. You can just make out the remains of sections of the artificially constructed Mulberry harbour offshore. Remembrance Day today: 'Always & Forever'.

An image of some of those great rocks at Cocklawburn Beach near Berwick. I haven't been over to the Northeast as much as I used to, this was an image made in November last year.

Please feel free to share with your friends and family should you wish to,
