Talking Barbara Doll (Barbara Parlante Lili) was produced in Mexico by Lili Ledy Toy Company from 1972 to 1975.

This picture shows Barbara Parlante. The outfit is not Lili Ledy brand.

The outfit you see in the picture where the doll keeps her hands together during the video, was also made in Mexico under License from Mattel in 1975.

Ok So Brian tagged me to show some personal space. This is my doll shelf in my studio in Germany. I have my Willy, Barbara, Marlene, Debbie Drake and Go-Gos on there at the moment though this changes now and again...

Because we're worth it!

Barbara came with lovely shades of lovely locks: Honey Blonde, Beautiful Black, Platinum Blonde, Ravishing Red & Beguiling Brunette! ( I know I am so cheesy sometimes!)

There is an additional shade of Brunette, that is lighter and a bit more auburn but it does not distinguish as being so different on camera.

Thanks Jorge! to borrow Barbara for this pic lol ;P

Barbara Parlante & Caprice!!!!

My purse? yes, is part of the outfit. All matching, purse, belt and boots. Shopping? ... in New York !

Run your cursor over the image to see which dolls are on that specific shelf.

I know these will be a nightmare to dust. I dont think my current routine of blowing on each shelf every morning will work somehow ...

Some of my favorite Lili Ledy Talking Barbara dolls

I am in the process of making a reproduction box for the Lili Ledy Barbara Parlante doll. I used the Busy Talking Steffi graphics as inspiration!

These two Mexican Talking Barbara dolls, are in the process of being restored, but thought they were good candidates for the tag game!

Like many collectors I have a fascination with dolls in Flight attendant uniforms.

Thanks to my Mexican Flickr friends David (Forget Me Not) & Lino (toycollectorofthe70) who helped me with info and refernce sources on what the early 1970s uniform was like.

I plan on getting this design made up for my Mexican Lili Ledy dolls Barbara Parlante and Senorita Lili. Stay tuned!

Restoration complete. I fixed her body. Her hair has been de tangled and defrized. i then added a soft body wave and curled the ends.

I also gave her blush and retouched her lips to finish her.

I am delighted with this doll and her understated beauty. Her softer colouring gives her an altogether different look form other Barbara Lili dolls.

Barbie and Barbie Peinado Magico (aka Quick Curl Barbie), first edition of Senorita Lili with straight legs and soft make up, Barbara Parlante and second version of Senorita Lili with intense make up and bending legs.

Thank you David, you're the source of all these dolls!

So here is the final box with the addition of the fashions. I might print off the earlier version too. Just the booklet to finish now :-) A big Thank you to Lino Lugo (Toycollectorofthe70) for his help and guidance with the design of the box.

This is an image to go on the back of the box. I will also have a cut out for the pull string and I willl add lettering to say: "I pose" , "I have real eyelashes", "I can say many things" All in Spanish of course!

This talking doll has been completely trashed. Her hair is matted, her body broken and neck nob snapped. Incredibly her legs still click and her talking mechanism works lol.

She will be a challenge but will come up lovely i think.

Here is the finished Box. I am pretty pleased with its authenticity. Its been a bit of a labour of love but I am happy!

The complete ensemble comprising of coat, hat, sheath dress, gloves , shoulder bag, printed scarf and stockings. The original trim I believe had a more red colour but I love the cranberry. Its a nod to braniff!
