The jacket designed long ago by Elizabeth Zimmerman, knit all in one piece in a very strange shape. You never actually know which part you are knitting and it doesn't make sense till you fold it and sew along the top of the shoulders. But it is quick and easy to knit. Lots of photos on flickr if you search my title.

Used up the buttons I bought in Robin Hood's Bay. I thought they were quite unusual but today I saw whole jars full of the very same, in different sizes, in the sales in one of the department stores in Lausanne.

I want to make a third.

for the fetus!

I used an i-cord cast-off that took way too long, but was waaay too easy! I thought I was doing it wrong, it went so well. hah! my fetus will be 6-9 months when the weather is ready for it, so I hope it fits HIM then. I may have to elongate the sleeves a bit, but that'll be easy. I'm going to save a ball of the Elsbeth Lavold AL for when the time comes. I need to decide what buttons....

So I made a stranded (aka fair isle) Baby Surprise Jacket for my friend Nikol's daughter, Twyla Pearl. The knitting part was easy, the finishing was tedious at best. But it turned out adorable so totally worth it!

4th time I have knit the famous Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise Jacket. This time for baby Bennet.

Here is the finished jumper for Ruth. I found it quite stressful to knit as I was convinced I was going wrong but couldn't tell for sure because I couldn't work out how the whole thing went together... If I ever make this again (which I won't since I am now retiring from knitting!) I will follow the advice and just trust that it will turn out ok.

Yep, it was that quick ;-) Great TV knitting!! My first EZ pattern, and I am completely converted. I can see myself making a tomten jacket for her when she's a bit older.

I am knitting on 4 mm needles. Cuffs are completed and I have just changed to the pink ball and done the 9-sts-increases for cuff fullness.
