I am so excited for autumn... its my favorite time of year so I went out for a color tour with my dad.
I saw this tree on walking my dog in my local park. I just loved the contrast of the orange, blue and green. Autumn is such a great season for colour and contrasts.

The beech tree is one of my favourites. I love the fresh green leaves in the spring but I also love the golden tones in the autumn. This one is growing on the banks of the river Clyde near New Lanark.
Just a little tweaking in Photostudio Darkroom.
We love Autumn! The warm and vibrant array of colors, the crisp clean air, the changing of the Seasons. Just a few of the reasons why we love Autumn!
Some more from my autumn walk. But I must be fair here and state that it was last autumn. This year has been far too wet!

Thank you for looking and your kind words are always welcome.
Despite the Autumn frosts and chilly nights the Fungi continue to thrive on the forest floor. Autumn 2016 has been perfect for Fungi as here in West Wales as yet we have not had too much heavy rain recently or very hard frosts and the Larch trees covered in thier golden needles provide shelter.

October's Party
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

The woods are full of fairies
The sea is full of fish
The trees are full of golden leaves
Let's make an autumn wish...
Autumn colors reflected in the pond at the Saline Valley Conservation Area outside of Eldon, Missouri.
A splash of autumn colors being reflected on the Salmon Brook River that flows through McLean's Game Refuge in Granby, CT.
The best light of autumn so far and I was lucky enough to be in the Goyt Valley to capture the incredibly rich colours of the beech trees with the pine forest in the background.
The Coopers Rock lookout near Morgantown WV. Most times when standing on the lookout one would tend to look the other direction across the valley that overlooks the Cheat River, but in this instance turning around with my back to the valley gave us beautiful morning light cresting over the mountain.
We have three maple trees in our yard. One has green leaves that turn bright yellow in autumn. The one shown in this photo has dark red leaves that turn this lighter red/orange colour in autumn.
The other, we believe to be a cross between the first two. We discovered it many years ago as a tiny sapling growing against the fence between our driveway and our sideyard, midway between the first two trees. We transplanted it into the backyard and its leaves are a red-tinged green turning an orange-tinged yellow in autumn.
