October waved goodby with sunshine and warm tempereratures and we used the perfect weather for an extended hiking tour on the Wittedindsweg, a crest trail on the Wiehengebirge from Porta Westfalica in the East to the Osnabrück area in the West. Before the sun went down we visited the most interesting spots of the Eastern part of the trail.
The changing autumn colours of an 'Oak'.. 'Quercus'.. tree..

One of my new year resolutions is to finish organizing my photos. This was taken many years ago on a trip to Colorado and Utah. Mountain view in Colorado
“Fall colors are funny. They’re so bright and intense and beautiful. It’s like nature is trying to fill you up with color, to saturate you so you can stockpile it before winter turns everything muted and dreary.”
― Siobhan Vivian, Same Difference
Almost all of my favourite colours, just on one leaf! Love Autumn! Went to Gaia's Harvest Festival Assembly this morning (took this on my way there) which was fabulous and very special since we never had anything like that in Bahrain.
One of her teachers made a spectacular display made of fruits and vegetables from her garden and got up especially early to chop some wheat from her neighbour's farm. She'd put everything on a bed of gorgeous leaves that looked like they were glowing. It was beautiful.
It's the Bat Ball next month, I'm just imagining the decor for that!!
This is the third photo from yesterday's rural ramble, and I have probably shown the three best. This might be my fave of the day. I think this was taken on or near Don Fosters Road (although this name doesn't appear on the Flickr map) as we approached the village of Lanark as we began to wend our way home.,

When we drove to the country on Friday, Sept 19, we were a little disappointed over the paucity of colour. These certainly was some, but the scenes weren't exactly resplendent. However, the outlook changed very quickly, even within two days. This one was taken a whole week later, and it couldn't get much better. In fact, the colour in cottage country would be on the decline right now.

At the park this afternoon...
Very subtle flypaper textures.
Much better Big on Black so press the L key!
Oh and HBW (haven't done one of those for a while!)
