Approximately 30 minutes of clear sky since the last 1.5 months. I did my best to capture comet Lovejoy before leaving us. Telescope was a 420 mm f6.5 refractor mounted on the Skywatcher Adventurer mount. The image is a stack of 45x17 sec and 13x40 sec subs (20 min overall exposure time), taken with the Nikon D610.
Looking out of my window this evening and a completely clear sky drew my attention to try for star shots! How quickly the British sky's change!

The Daymark at Kingswear was built in 1863 and is a hollow, octagonal tower built of limestone and rises to 80ft into the air, it was used to mark the entrance to Dartmouth harbour. Arriving at the site at 12:30’ish and the short walk from the carpark. The tower was looking great, nicely illuminated by a waxing gibbous moon to the west, while the Milky Way was to the South East. Over the shoot the moon moved around to the North East before finally disappearing just after 2:00. You plan these shoots and you never know quite what you will see or get, this was one of the best astro shoot I have done for a long time...

And the bushes. I think I prefer them dark, but feel free to tell me if you think I'm wrong.
