Cruisin' down the Mendocino County coastline, I finally found one of the places I have long wanted to shoot; the Point Arena Lighthouse.

One of the things I like most about this part of the California coast is, all the beauty of the Big Sur coast without all the tourists.

In 1939 the arena was used for the last time for a long time. After the closure of the Second World War and the turmoil of the post-war period, the renovated summer arena was reopened on June 29, 1957 and still represents today with its, depending on need closing or opening glass roof, a unique specimen in the species "open-air theater" dar.

In 2006, the 100th anniversary of the summer arena was honored with a big festive concert. The cultural summer in the summer arena Baden with its inimitable atmosphere, enjoys the public's greatest popularity. For the first time in the summer of 2009, in addition to the annual operetta productions, a theater production was also on the program.

Happy Fence Friday from the very impressive Arena of Nîmes - Roman amphitheatre, situated in the lovely little town of Nîmes, France. Built around 100 A.D., shortly after the Coliseum of Rome, it is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world and definitely worth seeing. It's honestly almost impossible to grasp that this immaculate amphitheatre could really be so old. HFF!
