Der Apollo-Tempel im Nyphenburger Schlosspark

As it is so often the case, beautiful motifs are difficult to achieve. I found this beautiful Apollo butterfly above Lake Lungern (Canton Obwalden) on an extremely steep slope. That I could photograph it so close was probably due to a cloud that covered the sun. I had observed before that these butterflies fly less without sunshine and like to sit down. But maybe this is only my subjective impression...

I've worked third shift for seven years now. Every morning, I take a few minutes to watch the dawn break. I've probably seen more sunrises than most. Its a magical moment when the dark mysterious night loses its grip and a new day begins. There is a gentle silence, there are rich deep colors embracing you, there is a feeling of calm anticipation that only exist for a few moments between the Was and the Will.

Oh, alright. Not really. But try using a little imagination, and it could be.

Many thanks to everyone who will pass by visiting my shots. Comments are appreciated. You are welcome. Sergio

We call him Lo for short. He came to live with us back in December. Here he was a few days ago practicing his social distancing by being on top of the picnic table alone.

As I sit here listening to the rain beat down on my roof, it is a nice time to look through my holiday snaps from last year.

Memories of the morning I took this, flow through my mind... the gentle warmth of the summer early morning air.

I took my thongs off, to feel the sand under my feet, as I walked along the beach.

Apparently Apollo Bay become important in 1936 when a submarine telegraph and communication cable linked it with Tasmania... providing communication between Tassie and the mainland.

The thin veil of cloud on this day, reflecting gorgeous subtle colours on the wet sand, certainly made this a sunrise fit for the Gods.

Temple of Apollo, Didyma (Didim), Turkey. A temple from antiquity, where also the oracle of Didyma was. It has been shaken several times by earthquakes. Nevertheless, the ruins are still very impressive.

After spending the night in Torquay I headed off with the family to Apollo Bay. This is the first image that I have processed in my Great Ocean road series.

I adore lunar imagery, and have a considerable archive of mission data/imagery, from ESA, JAXA, NASA, et al. Although I do have an affinity for all of it , really, I am particularly fond of the US and the Soviet space agencies' historical/legacy data (as a kid growing up in the NASA/Houston suburbs, I had the privilege of spending an evening with visiting Cosmonauts, and carried souvenirs of their space program kindly gifted years ago as good luck charms, so to speak, on my recent birthday! From the tragedy of Apollo 1, to the triumphant exit and ambitious Apollo 17 missions, the program seemed to be one superhuman act of engineering brilliance on top of almost unthinkable acts of bravery, on a repetitious cycle, as in those years, we were doing something so dramatic and amazing as to be literally unbelievable (Buzz actually punched a guy who accused him of faking the entire thing! As a student of martial arts, I learned quite early when to and when not to engage, but after such harassment, I can understand Dr. Aldrin's significant frustration! ;-) Ok. This is a relatively low-fi reproduction of one of the many images -- extraordinary material -- but on a whim, discovering it earlier today, I simply had to post! Cheers, guys! You're my heroes. Skäl.

Here's some guys I haven't seen many figs of, and it's a shame cause they're awesome. Easily one of my favorite couples in Superhero Comics.

Apollo is one of the most complex and important gods, and is the god of many things, including: music, poetry, art, oracles, archery, plague, medicine, sun, light and knowledge. He is the son of ZEUS and the Titan Leto, and was born in the Greek island of Delos, along with his older twin sister ARTEMIS – goddess of the hunt.
