This is one of the panels I brought home from the quilt guild that was brought in by one of the ladies cleaning out her stash.
I added batting and backing, quilted it, and added a binding.
I will be giving it to the church for their prayer shawl ministry.
34 inches by 43-1/2 inches.
i took this while teaching a group for my hot shots course. on day one the participants are lent a lomo LCA, given 2 rolls of film and a list a list 66 things to shot in the course of 4 hours. because you some times see great photo ops that are not on the list every one is aloud 6 wild cards (frames they can take of anything). i could not resist getting a shot of her, her eyes are amazing and they match the background perfectly (witch i did not notice at the time).
super nice and quiet place in the evening. The place is like from some fairy tale.

Young's Chapel.
This piano, along with the church, has seen better days, but honestly I don't think there's a more peaceful place in Georgia. I can imagine the sounds of "Amazing Grace," the shouts of "Amen!" and "Preach it, Brother!", and smell the fried chicken when this church had a congregation.

The light after a brief rain shower in Birmingham was amazing. Taken outside Symphony Hall looking towards the new library.
When i see trees like this growing out of what is basically rock its amazing to think how sturdy nature can be.

085/100 - 100 Possibilities Project - Yotsuba was sharing with me the details of some of her recent adventures. They were amazing, to say the least, but I was hoping for a little more "hair- raising" stories. Oh well, bald is the new bald, they say.
Sorry for the poor quality of this image. It is more the concept that got it posted than the actual acumen behind the lens. I was actually trying to flesh out an idea of Yotsuba as the "apple of my eye'" but my lens wouldn't get enough macro for you to see her reflected in the pupil.

Mirror Image of a Ring-billed Seagull with a catch. Sometimes the light is just right to get one of these shots. Today was one of those days.
Star Party at Cherry Springs Park, Pa
This place is amazing! The darkest skies and the most stars I have ever seen. These shots are pretty much SOOC with a little light adjustments in LR. The red lights are because that is all that is allowed in the viewing area. Red lights are less destructive to night vision than white lights.
Cherry Springs is located in the middle of the 262,000-acre Susquehannock State Forest, making it very remote, and very dark.
Because of its extremely dark skies, Cherry Springs State Park is one of the best places on the eastern seaboard for stargazing and astronomy.
Unfortunately, we are losing our dark skies to light pollution. The International Dark-Sky Association is trying to preserve the night sky by educating people about light pollution and what they can do to reduce it. www.darksky.org/
