My process for creating images doesn't begin in an orthodox way. It actually starts far away from my iPhone and evolved from life long hobbies. I'm an old soul, so antique shows, thrift stores and junk stops are the first step for me.
This is where I search for (and collect) cabinet card photos, vintage portraits, vintage actress/actor photos, etc. I like to think I'm giving them another chance.
After scanning the photo I'm going to use onto my computer, I feel like I'm no longer in control, because my art rarely turns out how I initially imagine it.
In a sense, I let the photo tell me how it's going to turn out. I'm a dreamer, so I start to wonder about these people and their lives, what they were like, their families and so on. I guess the mood takes over my subconscious.
I really don't ever follow a structure when creating art, so it's hard to define what exactly it is I do from this point on. I will say that I use the following apps, almost exclusively:
#ImageBlender, #Snapseed, #PicFx and #Afterglow.
I am ALWAYS taking photos, anything that catches my eye, anything that is interesting to me. Some of it gets used for stock photos of texture or "supporting" layers/backgrounds, and some of them I save for my own photo library. I also still use film, as I am an analog lover as well.
It thrills me that I'm able to create something different with the marriage of analog and digital that other people care to look at. If someone is able to make a connection with what I do, then that's just an added bonus for me.
The first lines of a poem called "Ode" (1874), were used in a movie I watched as a kid and it stuck with me the first time I ever heard it because it's true.

It was raining this morning when I left for work, and at the weekend I washed and waxed my car so the water droplets on the paint were prettier than usual.

I know I've slacked off on this project for a long time... so here's to getting back into it again.
I am by no means a coffee connoisseur but I sure do enjoy a good cup of joe. I love it for the smell and taste. I prefer to not drink it for the caffeine, although there are times when it is necessary. I don't want to become reliant on it, so I try not to don't drink coffee everyday. I prefer dark roasts for the boldness. I don't drink my coffee black, I add some honey or agave nectar to it. I do love Vietnamese iced coffee. But since that uses condensed milk, I only drink it occasionally.
I also enjoy mochas (so long as they're not too sweet) and lattes (once in while). I love coffee art! I would love to learn how to do it.
Are you a big coffee drinker? If so, what is your favorite drink?
