About this shot

Inspired by London photographers like Sean Batten and Vulture Labs I kept looking around for great photo opportunities also - or should I say especially - travelling by tube/underground. There's a couple of fabulous tube stations, from really old (and/or ugly) to hyper modern. St. Johns Wood is just fan-tas-tic!

The lines of this building reminded me of a certain record album of mine. I'm sure this is in violation of copyrights... I decided to do it anyway.

Day 179.

The looks I received while taking this shot is something I'll remember forever :)

Here is my entry for challenge 3 of TQ, the theme is "Pop Culture". I went for something older, as I'm a little older (but young at heart!). However, this one even pre-dates me.

I hope you recognize it...it's The Beatles on "Abbey Road". :P My photo is a recreation of one of their album covers.

Felix is in the Paul McCartney position...for two reasons mainly: I wanted him to be in one of the middle positions and Paul is the one who was out of step with the others (notice he is stepping forward with the opposite foot of the others). It caused quite a stir back in the day, so I hear, and contributed to a bunch of "Paul is dead" conspiracy theories. Don't ask...I wasn't born yet...

As an idea I like it, as a photo I struggled just to make it this good but I wish I had been able to do a better job.

Unless you have a 30" screen, if you do not see this large you are missing out. Pre-launch marketing for new gentlemen's outfitters Buckman Coats - shot wide open using 5D Mark II.

This is a teaser - more to come.

Classic British tailoring with cutting-edge fabrics and manufacturing techniques. Traditional style and ultimate practicality for every occasion, smart or casual.

A Hipora PU coating makes the outer fabric 100% waterproof yet breathable - stopping the wearer becoming wet by keeping water out, yet allowing moisture in vapour form to escape and so avoid clamminess. All stitched seams are taped to prevent ingress of water. Unlike so many other overcoats, The Buckman is not merely showerproof, it is genuinely waterproof in the most testing conditions, but without looking like it was designed for scaling Everest. Teflon treatment helps prevent the material itself absorbing water or other liquids and guards against stains.

Each coat will be personalised with the wearers initials, hand embroidered into one of the stunning labels.

Buckman - coming soon - the coat of choice for adventurers, film actors, racing drivers, fighter pilots, gentlemen and discerning scoundrels alike.

#9 A Beatles song for 113 pictures in 2013 group

... this is how I feel today: "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal."

Hi guys! I guess that I'm a little late for April's fools, ha? But it's my birthday and I can do whatever I want, hahaha! Anyway, this scenery was actually true! The only thing I've added was the pedestrian crossing... Hope you enjoy this! Do you see a bit of green in here? I DO! So... Happy Gorgeous Green Thursday to everyone!

EXPLORE#21 Apr 2, 2009

My love for The Beatles is starting to border on a mild obsession. It's true. So when I went to FNAC yesterday, with Joana and Sofia, and saw that there was a vinyl section, I giggled like a fangirl. And I giggled even louder when I was taking the shot in the comments and realized that Abbey Road was right in front of my eyes. OH, I love it so much. It's so absolutely brilliant, isn't it?

(Thanks to Joana, for being my human tripod! :))

Daughter Amy and I having fun interpreting the famous Beatles song from the Abbey Road Album. Nobody was harmed in the making of this, LOL!

"Joan was quizzical, studied pataphysical

Science in the home

Late nights all alone with a test-tube

Ohh-oh-oh-oh...

Maxwell Edison majoring in medicine

Calls her on the phone

"Can I take you out to the pictures

Joa-oa-oa-oan?"

But as she's getting ready to go

A knock comes on the door...

Bang, bang, Maxwell's silver hammer

Came down upon her head

Bang, bang, Maxwell's silver hammer

Made sure that she was dead"

On my return visit to Abbey Road this morning, the maple trees were putting on a dazzling display, but the leaves are falling fast.I can never understand why some people class them as litter.I think they're beautiful, and there to be enjoyed.

Week 29: Just playing with some long exposure blur. Don't panic I wasn't driving at the time : )

Well after a years gap I have now had my last 2 shots on explore, London buses comes to mind.

I was on my way back home from shooting some pics this morning when these fellas were crossing the road.

This farm is about a quarter mile from our place. They have quite a variety of ducks, chickens and rabbits, so I never know what I'll see around this long and winding road.
