Hubby and I went to Gatorland yesterday on a day with beautiful weather and among the many bird we saw was this Great Egret ~

Great Egret ~

The Great Egret (Ardea alba) also known as Common Egret, Large Egret or Great White Heron, is a large, widely distributed egret. Distributed across most of the tropical and warmer temperate regions of the world, in southern Europe it is rather localized. In North America it is more widely distributed, and it is ubiquitous across the Sun Belt of the United States and in the Neotropics. The Old World population is often referred to as the Great White Egret. This species is sometimes confused with the Great White Heron of the Caribbean, which is a white morph of the closely related Great Blue Heron (A. herodias).

The deep green patch between the eye and the bill only appears during breeding season. The egret's eyes are normally flat yellow; the blood-shot look is also a sign of breeding season.

Thanks to my (unknown) neighbor.

On my land yesterday to pay the rent, I noticed his house ... I was delighted by the incredible atmosphere of old American Home who has given me. And it came to my mind this song .... and Janis Joplin.

Swan Boat Ride around Lake Eola~

Cost:$12 per half hour, including tax

Hours: Weekdays noon to 6:00 p.m., weekends 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Location: Downtown, near the intersection of Rosalind Avenue and Robinson Street

Right in the heart of Orlando’s super-serious business district is this charming bit of whimsy. Lake Eola is Orlando’s signature park, with its spectacular floating fountain. Along its shore, at a tiny kiosk called the Lake Eola Cafe, you can rent paddle boats decked out as graceful white swans and take them for a spin on this picture postcard lake. A sunset cruise on a swan makes a lovely way to get your evening off to a flying . . . er, floating start.

Here's a bit of Trivia: the city is named after Orlando Reeves who was killed by American Indians on the sight of Lake Eola in 1835.

Travelling across outback Missouri in America, I saw this brilliant sunset.

The flimsy cloud was colourfully on show in the deepening sun.

I can remember this afternoon clearly, as temperatures were rapidly becoming freezing, however it wasn't going to stop me capturing the moment.

The Missouri River is the longest river in North America.[13] Rising in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana, the Missouri flows east and south for 2,341 miles (3,767 km)[9] before entering the Mississippi River north of St. Louis, Missouri. The river takes drainage from a sparsely populated, semi-arid watershed of more than half a million square miles (1,300,000 km2), which includes parts of ten U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. When combined with the lower Mississippi River, it forms the world's fourth longest river system

Through the state, Interstate 94 follows the route once taken by U.S. Highway 10 west from Fargo. This route was originally called "The Old Red Trail". Prairie Public Television in North Dakota produced a documentary about this road and the building of I-94 through the state.

Interstate 94 roughly follows a BNSF Railway (formerly the Northern Pacific Railway) route across North Dakota.

Hot air balloons taking off after sunrise at the Balloon Fest in New Smyrna Beach ~

A man in a hot air balloon realised he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below.

He descended a bit more and shouted, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The woman below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."

"You must be an engineer," said the balloonist.

"I am," replied the woman, "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip."

The woman below responded, "You must be in Management."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"

"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault."

The land of the free. God Bless America.

Happy 4th of July Flickr friends and Happy Birthday America !!!

This is probably one of the main tourist tracks ever. A few years ago were my niece and I, for a short time, a part of it. I must confess the vibrant life, the whole atmosphere and the tall buildings have left a big impression on me

The Prothonotary Warbler (Protonotaria citrea) also called Swamp Warbler because of its preferred habitat. This brightly colored bird breeds in eastern North America and winters in the Caribbean and northern South America.

Where the streets are paved with gold, but we are forbidden to walk.

I just adored these two. He was probably about 4'5'' and she was even tinier. They really got a kick out the impromptu photosession.

Taken 2 days ago from the 'Grandview' scenic overlook in the 'New River gorge National Park' in West Virginia. A nice place with a great view.

Unfortunately no stunning sky with clouds, they totally disappeared just 10 minutes before sunset :-((((
