I only get a couple of weeks a year to do it, but when I get to Cornwall , I love to surf, I can stand up now more times than I fall off. Have a great weekend everyone.

This was the scene from my bedroom window yesterday at 7.50 am,

Detail of Edwardian door stained glass. Haringey Park London UK

Night shots of the London Eye with various different exposures. (This one 2.2 minutes.)

A UKIP battle bus, its work done, settles down to retirement in the sunlit uplands of Kent. Not as glamorous as the infamous shiny red “£350 million for the NHS” battle bus of the Leave campaign, but it helped in its way.

Any metaphorical associations in this picture are strictly in the eye of the beholder.

For those in other countries who may not know, UKIP is the United Kingdom Independence Party.

The photo:

I couldn't decide whether I prefer “UK Mood & Mind” or “Moody Towers” as the title of this image.

There was something rather appealing and exciting about walking through the narrow streets of the ancient capital on a late, rainy night while minding the time so I didn’t miss the last tube train before midnight. (I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I can’t help but reiterate how much I *wish* the Underground operated 24 hours a day).

At the same time, there was a part of me that wanted (and was tempted) to stay out all night to capture and experience the magic that is -- and forever will be -- London.

Not sure if I like this shot or not, hence it's been languishing in my 'Rainy Day' folder for a while.......

Taken on a cruise (read ; slow boat trip....) along the Thames, the scene is very cluttered but in it's favour the back-lighting is dramatic, there's some great light under the bridge and I tend to like shots which are almost monochrome with just a hint of colour. If you look carefully you can see some Olympic Rings floating in the Thames too.

Having artificially darkened the sky of this panoramic shot of Happisburgh Lighthouse I did consider adding a light but with a lot of these things, it's knowing when to stop.......

From Wikipedia : "Happisburgh Lighthouse in Happisburgh on the North Norfolk coast is the only independently operated lighthouse in Great Britain. It is also the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia......

In 1987 Happisburgh was one of five lighthouses declared redundant by Trinity House and deactivation was planned for June 1988. Villagers organised a petition to oppose the closure, and as a result the date was postponed.

Under the Merchant Shipping Act of 1894, Trinity House may dispose of a working lighthouse only to an established Lighthouse Authority. On 25 April 1990 the Happisburgh Lighthouse Act received the Royal Assent establishing the Happisburgh Lighthouse Trust as a Local Light Authority, and Happisburgh became the only independently run operational lighthouse in Great Britain."

A regularly captured windmill in Buckinghamshire, UK. It has been photographed in all seasons from all angles but never before by myself so I tried something slightly different.

Blenheim Palace is a large and monumental country house situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. It is the only non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title "palace". The Palace, one of England's largest houses, was built between 1705 and circa 1724. It was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

I know it's garish; this shot was in real life, too!

As I drove, seeking for some suitable foreground to capture this receding rain cloud, the sun revealed itself and lit up this rapeseed field in front of me. Needless to say, strange/unique light rarely lasts so I rushed to the field edge. Whilst I stood, making as best a composition as I could (bearing in mind the power lines), a rainbow developed on my left side. Unfortunately, the view that way was was incredibly uninspiring - I just wish it could have graced this shot too...
