I've known Boca Grande for more than 32 years thanks to the gracious introduction by our dear friend Dr. Farrior, known to my children as Papa Doc.
A couple of weeks ago, he set aside time to take me around the little island I've fairly thoroughly explored to show me some places he thought I'd like to photograph.
How many nearly 88-year-olds even have the energy, much less the generosity?
I am very grateful for Papa Doc and this little island he's given me. I learned there's still so much more to explore.

My remix of original photo by brainfurnace.
apps used:
PictureShow; CameraFun; ArtStudio; PhotoForge; TouchRetouch.
I used a separate image, created by me using iPhone, for texture.
This shot is pretty much the result of Hipstamatic. The only other apps involved were ImageBlender, which allowed some tweeking of tones, and TouchRetouch which was used to remove unwanted details. This was shot in the runoff area of the Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. This is immediately after sunrise on a very foggy morning. Yellowstone provides many opportunities for atmospheric pics, with fog, mists, and clouds. These conditions tend to compliment the minimalist technique most often used in my pics. The fog and mists especially allow for the isolation of subject matter.
IPhone 6+ and processed with Snapseed, TouchRetouch, and Instaflash Pro. I love semi-abstract images. I'm also a big fan of what I call 'the secret element'. That is some aspect of a photograph that causes a viewer to think or find themselves searching for an answer. In this shot, there is a 'giveaway'. An element that establishes this as being in an urban environment instead of out in the country somewhere. But, it's not obvious. You have to work for it. #photographer #photography #city #Minnesota #SaintPaul
"In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette, which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love."

This is beneath a bridge spanning the Rio Grande alongside NM-28. Lots of colorful graffiti under there.
Any water is released from the Caballo Reservoir, from what I understand, and the first release of water is supposed to take place around the end of March this year.
