Titre : Le "Brave"...

I was on my belly quite a number of times trying to get this shot. Holding my breath to keep it steady and get a bit more depth of field.
Bot this was a hard shot to get. I should have gone with a leaf. I even have a Japanese painted fern now that I think of it.
Happy Macro Monday
This was uploaded on May 16th and It's Armed Forces Day in America. This is to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe. Thank you.
Only several hours after their birth, ducklings already show "personalities". These five, I named "Braves", are active, curious, and already started swimming ahead of their mother. Other four, top left, are timid and are afraid of many things, including jumping into the water after a nap as in this photo. The first day of their life, in the nearby park.
For the Macro Mondays “Four Elements” challenge. Water.
Happy Macro Monday for us all. :)

This is a shot of a calf I managed to take whilst out with the horses I have recently been shooting.
There were about 5 cows and 4 calves and these young ones were very shy. I had to wait until cramp had set in before they got close enough for me to get this shot with my 105mm lens.
Developed in Ilfosol 3
I took this shot at Walberswick this morning, my car said it was 2 degrees Celsius and the bike belonged to somebody actually swimming in the sea...!!!

A mural by Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra, painted as a memorial to the 343 NYC firefighters (including 2 paramedics and a chaplain) who were killed in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. NYC firefighters call themselves "New York's Bravest."
When his mural was unveiled on September 11, 2018, Kobra said, “the image contains details that allude to the historical episode. On the helmet, I wrote the numbers 343. This is a reference to the number of firefighters killed that day. There is also a representation of the Twin Towers and the flag of the United States. The stars represent all the lives that were lost in the tragedy—which left nearly 3,000 dead. Lastly, the colors have one goal: To pass on a message of life, of a restart, of reconstruction.”
The angle is a little odd because I shot it from inside my car. I went for a drive in Manhattan, to see for myself how quiet it is with the shutdown. I never got out of the car, although for the first time, I wouldn't have had any trouble finding parking. One photo a day. NYC -- April 19, 2020
Sanderling foraging on the seashore nearly caught by a wave (the photographer was...).
This little dude really worked up come courage to come say hi to me when I was shooting the birds. He really wanted to see what I was all about so he would pop out, get a little close and scurry off. Eventually, I decided to leave a few seeds out for him, so he would run out, scarf down the seeds and run off again. Each time I would put the seeds out, I would put them a little closer. Eventually, he would run right up to me! I even was able to have him eat the seeds out of my hand. It was hilarious because he would climb up the legs of my tripod eat the seeds out of my hand, and then scamper back down the tripod and off to his burrow somewhere. All in all, he was a very entertaining little guy.

The Thistle is the floral emblem of Scotland.
According to legend, in the 13th Century, an invading Norse army was attempting to sneak up at night upon a Scottish army's encampment. One barefoot Norseman had the misfortune to step on a thistle which, as you know, are very prickly! He cried out in pain, alerting the Scots to the presence of the invaders. It's thought that the specific occasion was the Battle of Largs (1263), which marked the beginning of the departure of King Haakon IV (Haakon the Elder) of Norway who, having control of the Northern Isles and Hebrides, had harried the coast of the Kingdom of Scotland for some years.
The thistle (like the burr) is an ancient Celtic symbol of nobility of character as well as of birth - so any of us with Celtic blood can feel an affinity to this flower too !
Thistle flowers are favourite nectar sources of many butterflies. The seeds are favourites with goldfinches (seeds are called niger seed).
Texture from Lenabem-Anna. Thanks Anna.
And thank you, as always, for looking and for your support ! Have a wonderful weekend everyone !

It takes a hardy little tree to survive here. It is completely out in the open and exposed the the salt water and wind. I fell in love with this ugly little guy. He is deserving of this picture and many more.
