(and it made explore...sweet! Nov 23, 2011 #364)
November 23, 2006. Day Time.
Fall Break I went to visit my family for Thanksgiving and stayed. It was a lot fun escaping from school for a week or so.
Wishing a belated Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrated this week. We had our turkey dinner on Wednesday since that was the only day both our daughters could make it. Neither of their significant others was able to come, and my dad is Michigan with my sibs and his grand- and great-grand kids, so it was just the four of us here - like old times, but more laid back.
I should have posted this shot earlier, but.... well, you know. And then yesterday, our internet was mostly out, along with tv and landline phone problems. Yes, that's right - it seems that the entanglements of the ATT/Frontier switch-over have finally reached southern CT. Right now, our electronics are kind of back to normal slow, so here's my Thanksgiving shot doing dual duty for Fence Friday.
If you're traveling - or shopping! - stay safe! I'm grateful for all you flickr friends.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Flickr friends. Sorry I have not been able to visit much lately. Wishing you all the best on Thanksgiving Day. Love , light and happiness!
The title comes from a Thanksgiving poem / song. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

This is what I have heard
at last the wind in December
lashing the old trees with rain
unseen rain racing along the tiles
under the moon
wind rising and falling
wind with many clouds

A rework of one of Tuscanys most sought after locations. This was captured very early in the morning. The group of trees are dedicated to the memory of fallen soldiers during WWll . Happy Thanksgiving to all my Can. friends.
I was so determined to capture the leaves on the ground that it was only later that I noticed the pretty bokeh back there.
Captured at: Bell's Christmas Tree Farm, Accord, NY.
Had the opportunity to visit a beautiful Christmas Tree Farm over the Thanksgiving holiday, and was treated to this beautiful winterscape up in the Catskill Mountains.
A late November storm dropped almost a foot of snow in the surrounding areas, and left the farm naturally decorated for the coming holiday season.

I wish all my US friends a Happy Thanksgiving!
And for the rest of us - have a lovely day anyway!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving if you are here in America! My front page is filled with shots that I took in North Carolina recently....what a beautiful place!
We had a wonderful day ....Thanksgiving was by the shore for us this year. The weather was gorgeous and for that I am so very thankful. So whether you are "bundled up" or "sleeveless", I hope you enjoyed this very memorable day and keep remembering to "take 5" throughout every day to ponder on things that you have to be THANKFUL for....I know it will take me a lifetime, but one day at a time....there is so much!
Psalm 100......."Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 100.
Many Blessings, to you and your family my wonderful Flickr friends!!
Whether you sit at an elegant table this year or help fill plates at a shelter, may you be surrounded by those you hold dear. And if there are those who are no longer with you, honor their memory and remember their kindness.

There are so many things I'm thankful for....my family, my country, my friends, my good fortune. This morning while the women were getting the food ready for Thanksgiving dinner Toni told me to get out of her way and go take some pictures. This little swamp is just two miles from our house and just off the Arkansas River. I'm thankful I live is such a great place and have such natural beauty just outside my front door.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my great Flickr friends !
Our Daily Challenge - Adventure
After a great Thanksgiving celebration, I'm sharing with you this some personal notes...
The joy of sharing everything with my family, I have that blessing.
My friends, we share good and bad times, they are a blessing.
I have enough and a little bit more to share. That is a blessing.
I paint, I photograph, I sing and I play my favorite instrument, those are many blessings!
I want to thank everybody, my family, my friends and contacts here in Flickr, for making this place a very special one.
Perfect for the season and always...
"Sometimes not often enough
We reflect upon the good things
And those thoughts always
Center around those we love
And I think about those people
Who mean so much to me
And for so many years have made me
So very happy
And I count the times
I have forgotten to say, thank you
And just how much I love them"
(Lyrics by Felice Mancini, Music by Henry Mancini, preformed by the Carpenters)
Happy Thanksgiving to all my flickr friends.

This is my back yard after a couple of hours of snow today, it is supposed to keep going all day and into the night. The tree to the left is the bright red maple, all bare now and weighed down. Looks a lot different than a few weeks ago :)
I drive by this maple tree every day as I come and go and I am thankful for its presence and reminder of home.
It changes with the seasons and grows with the years, just as we do. As I walked by, I was struck by its beauty, as it was quietly standing there in all its autumn glory... its leaves showing off a brilliant orange and red.
So thankful to pause for a moment and revel in her beauty... soon she will be covered in a blanket of snow.
For my 30 days of gratitude project.

Was in Wheatley, Ontario for Thanksgiving. My cousin's parents live 5 minutes drive from the shore of Lake Erie, so we took a walk down on the Monday morning. All this gorgeous driftwood had washed up on it, I had to keep reminding myself that this is a lake and not the ocean :)
The colour down here was so amazing and just like a gorgeous summer day :)
thank you so so much to everyone for your beautiful comments, very much appreciated :)

Wishing all my Flickr friends who celebrate Thanksgiving a happy day. Don't eat to much and always save room for some dessert. :-)~
The mountain on the right is Superstition Mountain. November 23, a small plane crashed in to that mountain and so far no survivors. Please keep the victims and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Many Blessings, to you and your family my wonderful Flickr friends!!
Hopefully your house is a little less abandoned and mossy than this old homestead in Portland! Wishing the Americans on Flickr a very happy Thanksgiving :)
(Tech: I finally managed to process at least one frame from the Stone House set to capture the abnormally blue sky that day, without HDR programs...and it still looks strange to my eyes! And it took a lot of messy detail work to eliminate the fringeing on the trees :( I guess blue skies and dim forests don't mesh well?)

On a hill in Bloomington stands a 53-foot oak tree that few notice in the light of day. But when darkness falls, a switch flips and there is light: 41,300 white lights, to be exact, that wrap the tree's trunk and every branch, creating a glow that can be seen for miles along the Minnesota River Valley. It's a spectacular sight along a stretch of Hwy. 77 south of the Mall of America.
Bob and Julie Little have lit the majestic tree since moving into Julie's childhood home in 2001, creating a Christmas tradition that attracts hundreds of passersby who stand at the end of the Littles' driveway, eyes wide, jaws dropped, cameras out. They come in cars, tour buses and limousines from the time the tree is lit on Thanksgiving night until the plug is pulled on New Year's Day.
There was the sailor who stopped by to ask whether he could propose to his girlfriend in front of the tree the next night. The family who snapped a photo for their annual Christmas card. The airline pilot who insisted to his wife that they find the "beacon of light" that he flew over. And then there are the children who dance with wonder under the tree.
