10x6.978 inches Digital Photography with traditional editing. I chose the subjects of my photos based on the many intricate details each one had. The details help to develop the texture of the subject matter in the photograph. Based on each photograph one can feel the texture with their eyes in a manner of speaking. These textures vary from the sharpness of the cacti needles, the smoothness of the leaves, the roughness of the rocks, and the bumpy grain and fine pieces of the wood. All of these photos were edited traditionally with basic levels, curves, and saturation. One of the largest challenges of this project was getting close up to the subject without getting out of focus. Another challenge was composing the photograph with a focus point and the texture. It was very easy to take photos of dirt and grass for texture but they are truthfully boring photos. I tried to have a focus point in each of my final photographs this week.

My textures I use I have found on flicKr free textures...

As someone who uses textures A LOT, I thought it was about time I had a go at making my own. It's actually more difficult than I thought, so I now have even more respect for some of the amazing texture artists out there! This is one of my first feeble attempts. Not had chance to use it on an image yet, so I thought I would throw it up here, as I know quite a few of my contacts like to experiment with textures.

Totally free to download and use in any way you see fit (as long as it's not for commercial purposes). If you use it in a final image please feel free to post the link to it below...I'm nosey and would love to see what people do with it!

Still very busy at home, but back soon as things calm down! ;-)

a bit of an experiment, i liked the composition but the sky seemed to bland so i fooled around with some textured to give a bit more bite, this is a two image stitch at 50mm, there is a fair bit of detail when viewed at its largest size, i don't recommend pressing the L button to view as you tend to loose detail when viewing in that format
