Hi Everyone...just dropping in to say thanks for the time you spent looking at my Bolsa Chica subm. I still haven't made any final decisions and I have come up with a few others I like as well.

Also thank you so much for all the well wishes for Jon..He ended up getting quite ill Saturday night and finally we went to the ER Tuesday at 5am..turns out now that he might have an ulcer..so maybe he wasn't even having gallstone attack after all..but no way to tell..more dr. appts. tomorrow. But at least they gave him a prescription for Pepcid and the attacks have stopped and he can finally eat. He has lost so much weight..

So..I have also been off line as I had a Trojan Horse i have been ignoring for two months! Long story short..I paid for Norton to come in and remove it by entering my pc by remote..which was pretty cool...the process took 5 hours though..they also gave my pc a tune up. All is working pretty well..but did have a problem..so they are due to come back in and do some more stuff in the next day or so. It was well worth the cost of $149 to have them do this.

I may or may not have time to do some visits over the next few days..I apologize for being such a deadbeat contact! ;-((.. I hope you guys and gals are all doing fine! If anything I will have a look around to see what you all are up to!

OH! PS: I just remembered today I have two years on Flickr! Wow! Where did all that time go! Thanks for hanging with me here!

My Favorites

The Kokolik River is in the northwest part of Alaska ... In the Arctic ... so basically out in the middle of nowhere. I was on a canoe trip last year down the river.

Textures are great fun to play with, yet they can be great time-wasters unless they are in the hands of the experts who have this down to a science...we all know who they are. In the meantime, we continue to learn from the best... as we diddle and dabble. :)

Therefore, my homage to texture:

A texturized photo layer which promises no assured improvement, whatsoever, when added to an existing photo.

The photographer has almost as much control over his subject matter as a painter. He can control light and shade, form and space, pattern and texture, motion and mood, everything except composition.

Textures on the beach at Maryport. The main foreground rock had the most amazing textures and shapes running through it, almost looking like wood. The boulders behind, the movement in the sea and clouds above, giving an image full of different textures.

Heavily textured Missouri. Wanted to texture an old clipper ship, but didn't have any such picture. Came up with this picture - taken while on our honeymoon in Hawaii. Febuary, 2011. Took this from the Arizona memorial. A total of 4 textures, though heavy, created the mood I was looking for.
