St. Peter Cathedral (Dom St. Peter) at Dom Platz in Regensburg. Cathedral rebuilt in 1273 in High Gothic style, known as home to the Regensburger Domspatzen choir.
This shot has been sitting in my archive for about 1.5 yrs to date. This was taken on my 2nd night photo trip in the city back in 2008. That's about the time when i was just learning to take 3 exposure shots for hdr processing. Back then I don't really care/know much about sky.. whether it has to be beautiful, cloudy or colourful for hdr... i just want to take shots for practice purposes :P so here goes.. one of the early work for u all :)

This is one challenging vertorama shot which i blend until i wanna cry!!! I managed to conquer this after a few attempts & i'm seriously very over cathedral shot for now haha! This cathedral looks very similar to many other in Australia such as St Mary Cathedral in Sydney. I bet in that era, there was already piracy going around. Someone must have duplicated the design plan like how asia has pirated CDs LOL! & magic! all look very much alike in every aspect! one good thing is at least they have different interior designers haha! This is one of our biggest here in Adelaide & I know our biggest is like a peanut to those coconuts in Europe. Happy Sunday!

Plans for the building of St. Peter Cathedral were initiated in 1873 by Bishop Tobias Mullen of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie. The cornerstone was laid in a formal ceremony held on St. Peter in Chains Day, 1 August 1875. After years of construction and a fundraising campaign that involved parishes throughout the diocese, the cathedral was completed in 1893. The architect was Patrick Keeley of Brooklyn, a prolific designer of churches whose works include 21 cathedrals in the eastern United States.

The dome in the foreground, built in 2011 is atop the new home of the Marquette Regional History Center.
Behind it, is the Marquette County Courthouse, built in 1904, and site of filming for "Anatomy of a Murder" (1959 movie).
In the far background are the colorful domes of St.Peter Cathedral, whose walls have stood since 1890. Much of the cathedral was rebuilt/restored in 1939 after a devastating fire.
(In the first comment below is the "grand-daddy" of all the Marquette domes: the Superior Dome of Northern Michigan University, world's largest wooden dome).
The beautiful historic church is beautiful in daytime and at night time, It gives North Adelaide entrance a signature of its own. Seeing the church through an Aerial view with the city landscape around it shows why this church is so unique in a very unique city. A great place to visit and pray.

This view is taken from 220 meters elevation aerial drone camera which snaps photos at 12 Mpixels and take 4k video. A new hobby with this photo being the 1st in a series of photos to be posted. Additionally I will be adding to my stream aerial videos taken by this drone. Another equipment added to my camera arsenal.
The Oval is the stadium built by the city. It hosts National and international sports and events. Since I been in Adelaide, the Oval hosted Australia NFL, Cricket and multiple concerts. The city view behind it is the Central Business District (CBD), in American English speak, it is Downtown.
This is a pano from 3 different photos taken by the drone.
Regensburg is one of Germany’s best preserved medieval Cities. Architectural highlights include the Old Town Hall, the beautiful white and gold Old Chapel, and the Porta Pretoria, gates to an acient Roman fort built in 179 A.D The city is the capital of Upper palatinate , a bustling university town and one of Bavaria’s cultural centers.
The Stone Bridge over the River Donau (Danube). In the old downtown there are two side-by-side cathedrals built at different times. It is easy to see which is older, the one with the round windows. Larger arched windows are relatively new construction
Built in the 1300s to replace earlier cathedrals, Regensburg Cathedral (Dom St. Peter) is the finest Gothic building in Bavaria. Its harmonious exterior, alive with interesting medieval sculptures, has recently been fully cleaned. Inside are even more sculptures along with an extensive collection of medieval stained glass.
