This is the finished product of waiting my usual on the beach in the dark (first light in a cloud cover like this is dynamite). You first see the bottom layer it starts orange and gets brighter in that layer as the sun goes up then reaches out to the rest of the sky breaking through in many places to produce an image at its brightest point so lots of shots to take, you need every second almost for an entire minute
White Island in Long Beach harbor and a flock of Skimmers are putting on a show between me and that island, me on the shore. One of the very best skies I have seen here in many years, this strong purple is a rare treat...
Heavy clouds everywhere just giving the rising sun some great dulled look instead of the giant blast.

I took this yesteday morning right after sunrise, the steam was coming off of the water, and there was this Heron sitting in the fog, when he saw me he took off down the creek into the light. that circular feature in the background is a large culvert in the creek.
Oh Yeah...1600mm
‘Cause I can see sunlight
Through my window
If you open your eyes you'll
Find your way back home
Sunlight through my window
If you open your eyes you'll
Find your way back home

May your joys be as bright as the morning, and your sorrows merely be shadows that fade in the sunlight of love. May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet, enough trials to keep you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to keep you happy, enough failure to keep you humble, enough success to keep you eager, enough friends to give you comfort, enough faith and courage in yourself to banish sadness, enough wealth to meet your needs and one thing more; enough determination to make each day a wonderful day than the one before. :)

Knowing you , I glance and see
My solid friend , for company
In good times , and in Wintery
My leafless , loyal buddy!
my first jump shot pic of my nephew Shane... we were taking a walk at the farm and i happend to notice his sihlouette while he was walking on the rock fence... he was sweet enough to take a couple of jumps off the fence and get some grass stains on his shorts... my sis will love me for that ... i do however have a plan for that...plead the fifth and say it was for Flickr_Rick ...

Just beyond the sunset
Someone waits for me
Just beyond the sunset
Lies my destiny
Where the purple mountains
Lie in deep tranquillity
There I’ll find the treasure
Of love eternally
Just beyond the sunset
Waits someone so fair
Just beyond the sunset
All alone they wait there
Their hair is golden
The colour of the sand
Their eyes sparkle in the night
Like diamonds in your hand
Just beyond the sunset
Lies a home for me
Where the world is peaceful
Like a paradise should be
Just beyond the sunset
Someday is where you’ll find me

Its nice to post something beside a waterfall for once =)
The suspected origin of Canada thistle is the eastern Mediterranean region of Europe, and it was likely one of the first weeds imported to North America by early settlers. It gets the name Canada thistle since the early residents of New England (USA) blamed its appearance on the French traders from Canada, but historians now believe it arrived in both places at about the same time from Europe.
Star trails... or star lines... at Pachesham Equestrian Centre, in Leatherhead.
Me and Rake went out in the cold last night to take star trail pictures. We had planned to visit a few places to photograph star trails... but it was way too cold for us after about an hour here... so weve decided to do more star trails trips in future, one to each spot.
This was the best of the few star trails shots i got... I didn't get many as they took between 15 and 20 minutes each, and it was friggin freezing out there... literally... the nice clear night sky meant we could see the stars, but that meant cold times. This one was a 17 minute exposure.

A red one we get a few of these but this one is a bit special because of the birds crossing. Nice suprise
Dedicated to all of my flickr friends who are enjoying the beautiful fall colors in the north. Our trees aren't turning yet here, but the sunsets are so colorful this time of year. This was shot looking north from my friend's dock. I didn't have my 50D with me, so I shot it with the Canon PS 630.

Your grace
deep as the ocean's soul
Your language like
a sad and beautiful longing
You touch my heart
like a withering blossom
Fragile falling to the ground
