Tamron SP 70-200mm f2.8 Di VC USD + Sigma MC-11

Waited so long for a proper 70-200mm zoom lens and first thought of having a native lens on Sony A7RII. Considering the price of Sony 70-200 2.8 GM and the fact that I only need it occasionally, ended up getting the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 VC USD based on the dxomark + reviews read.

Wow what a lens! This lens is stunning and I'm completely impressed. Looks like I may end up using it for more bokeh shots at f2.8 :)

Recientemente he adquirido un teleobjetivo Sigma 70 200m, f.2.8.

Sometimes I find leaves more interesting than flowers.

This is just repost of an archive shot in 2013.

Have a great weekend!

The following is the original story with the picture.

In the past, I always thought photographers are like scientists. They want to find order out of chaos. Just as Ansel Adams said, nature is a chaos and we have to organize and arrange it with our photographic composition.

When I am more and more into photography, I have now the feeling that photographers and artists actually do like chaos. Because chaos represent surprises, uncertainty and non-repetitiveness. And those are actually characteristics of arts. Sometimes artists use some unusual tools like human body parts, animals etc as paint brush or other techniques. This is the chaotic effect that they are looking for.

This is the "chaotic" composition of maples in Van Dusen Garden. Compared to the last composition that displayed more orderly pattern, this is like a chaos. It reminds me the Chinese painting technique called "splash-ink painting" 潑墨. The painter will not know what kind of subject he/she will be painting until the shape of the ink splash shows up on the paper.

Have a great Friday!

Of course I am not talking about the chaos theory in science or the second law of Thermodynamics. :o)

I've driven past these trees many times and always thought there's a shot to be had, yesterday I had my camera with me so decided to pull over and see what I could come up with. The problem I had was finding a vantage point, there was some stunning light and great cloud formations while I was looking for somewhere but by the time I'd found somewhere the clouds had passed leaving the more gloomy looking greyness. Not entirely happy with this shot due to the fact I couldn't quite get the composition I wanted due to trees in the way which I've had to crop out of the bottom of the shot....I'll certainly go back here at some point though.

A very very last minute decision to head towards Lands End this morning and I'm glad I did! I went there a couple of months ago to hopefully come away with a shot like this. This probably isn't my favourite shot of the day but I think it's the biggest explosion I photographed. For a sense of scale look at all the people on the cliff, I guess this has got to be 2-250 feet high

Messing around with long exposures again this morning due to the total lack of sunrise. Still practicing with long exposure processing as well as there seems to be a destinct lack of tutorials on the subject so it's a bit of trial and error, thought I'd leave the slight cool cast created by my 10 stop filter as I quite liked it.

Shot with D7100, Sigma 70-200mm and Haida 10 stop filter

Voici le premier oiseau photographier avec la Sigma 70-200. Parce-que, j'ai oublié le zoom Nikkor 200-500 mm f/5.6. Une chance il venait proche du bateau.
