Rainbow over the bridge to Washington state, Astoria, Oregon. I let flickr decide which one to put on top, I had very little time to compose, running along the slippery wooden boardwalk, wiping raindrops off the lens in between, no time to set up a tripod or use filters, the whole thing lasted less than 5 minutes.
Another low rainbow! An excellent explanation about these can be found here if you are interested - www.atoptics.co.uk/rainbows/primalt.htm
The fjord has turned quite turquoise this week because of algae growth - happens every June and makes it look quite pretty. That is fresh snow on the mountains as well.
The light of the sun and the wind working together and changing some threads of the web into rainbows ;-))
This is in response to my good friend and contact Dysartian who was telling me the weather was pretty dreich where he was, and enquiring about my area (we Brits tend to discuss the ever changing and variable weather conditions).
Having read his question, I looked up and out of the window to see this beauty. It was actually a double rainbow, but the other was fading fast by the time I reached the bottom of the garden - battling through dripping wet plants as I went.
It doesn't take much to get me happy and excited - thanks Dysartian.

Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) is a species of Australasian Parrots named so as they have almost every color of the rainbow in their feathers. How many colors can you spot?

We found this small group of Rainbow Eucalyptus trees in Parque Metropolitano La Sabana in San Jose, Costa Rica when we were there in May. I had never seen trees like this before with their colorful bark.

This is a familiar site to nearly all Idahoans, spanning the North Fork of the wild and beautiful Payette River.

"Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through."

Smile on Sunday - Rainbows
Macro colored pencil rainbow. My wife pointed out that I had left indigo out when I started. I tried it with and without indigo. Indigo made it a little bit too wide, so indigo had to go. I hope this makes you smile on Sunday. :-)

Rainbows End .
They said the streets were paved with gold
and you believed what you were told
but all you found was dont care less
dead end streets and emptiness
watch your dreams all fade and die
no good looking to the sky
there isnt going to be a rainbows end
just miles of heartache round the bend.
Rainbows appeared while we were visiting the Grand Teton National Park ... just as the rains ended.
