Mount Washington Overlook

Vista desde el monte Washington

A panorama of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Mt. Washington at night.

The characteristic shape of downtown is a triangular tract carved by the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers, where the Ohio River forms. The skyline features 151 high-rise buildings, 446 bridges, two inclined railways, and a pre-revolutionary fortification. Pittsburgh is known colloquially as "The City of Bridges" and "The Steel City" for its many bridges and former steel manufacturing base.

All together, a total of 446 bridges are in the city of Pittsburgh, offically the city with the most bridges in the world, three more than former world leader Venice, Italy.

captured this picture in between the 9th street and 7th street bridge, backside of the Alcoa corporate office.

A view from my room at the Ramada.

On the far left, the Monongahela River joins the Allegheny River to form the Ohio River, which is the largest branch of Mississippi. You can travel on a boat from Pittsburgh to New Orleans and Golf of Mexico.
