www.excursionpass.com/tour/paradise-subsee-pss-AMWuUPs Think you need to snorkel or swim to get near the schools of colorful fish swimming among the coral in Cancun’s reefs? Think again! Instead, you can stay dry and still get the same views from your comfortable seat in a unique submarine, a SubSee Explorer. This Cancun submarine tour is a cross between a glass-bottom boat and a submarine, providing you with up-close views of underwater life.
Okay, flowers are taking over here and it isn't really what I want to do but, lacking birds, fantastic landscapes, city scapes or interesting architecture, flower shooting is what I'll have to do as I just can't not shoot. It is, however, great practice so I'm not complaining.
Thanks, Ghostbones for your wonderful textures

Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.
~Stanley Harrison
Something a bit different today and out of my comfort zone. Hope you all enjoy it :)
Have a wonderful Friday all..

Yes, paradise is near, but out of our reach for most because we don't go chasing after our dreams leaving paradise in the dust.

So I guess the real irony of this shot is that after weeks of dropping everything to drive like a maniac down to the resort to try to catch a decent sunset, I had just convinced myself that I was NOT going to drive back down again regardless of how amazing the sky looked. But my son and his girlfriend needed a ride down to Disneyland, so I grudgingly told them I would take them. Annnnd....I brought my camera just in case.
But as soon as I got out of the car, I could tell that we were in for a good one. I muttered a quick goodbye to my son (who wasn't that sad to see me taking off so quickly) and I bolted straight for Paradise Pier.
As for this shot, (5 shot handheld bracket using the Nikkor 14-24) I tried a new spot on the pier over by the Cove Bar rather than where I usually shoot from down at the end by Screamin. At some point last year, they moved some trees onto that section and now, as a photographer, you have a Sophie's choice of sorts between losing Mickey's face on the Sunwheel, or the Paradise Pier lettering on the left. I thought that this spot wasn't a bad alternative.

Thank you very much all my dear friends for your visits, comments and favs!

Paradise ducks that is. Getting lazy with age I just drove the car to this point and opened the driver's door window. Decided to back up a little then took the shot. Most dangerous thing is other drivers coming at speed on unsealed road. I keep well to the side!
And in other news All Black vice-captain is out after another concussion last Saturday. Someday we may have to have helmets like USA football!

The apt named "Paradise Valley" as seen from the Mallard's Roost Overlook south of Livingstone, Montana......and about an hour north of the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
This is from Sunset at Paradise on Mt. Rainier. Taken on the same day as the previous Mt. Shuksan image (I know, I know, rough life-shuksan in the am, rainier in the evening). The wind was really howling on the hills, and I had hoped to capture the snow blowing in from behind me. That didn't work real well, but I still liked this image. About this time, I lost a glove in the wind, blew all the way down to the sledding area at the bottom! I've played with the split toning sliders in ACR for this. It allowed me to really cool down the shadows while keeping the highlights warm.

" bird " of paradise ...
Saw you flying by
Flash of Turquoise Blue
I just had to try
To keep your life in view
My bird of paradise
Sweet bird of paradise
Wish that I could fly
I'd be beside you now
But I can only sigh
And watch you circle round
My bird of paradise
Sweet bird of paradise
My bird of paradise
Sweet bird of paradise
My bird of paradise
So you fly away
When will you come again
So I can watch you play
In the pouring rain
My bird of paradise
Sweet bird of paradise
My bird of paradise
Sweet bird of paradise
My bird of paradise

A view from Mt. Rainier's Skyline trail looking NW, with the Paradise Inn far below on left. One of the grandest hikes I've enjoyed.
A few more images from this hike to Panorama Point in comments.
