Sandy dunes in New Mexico

In the text to my previous picture I mentioned that I was hoping for snow... Well, I got my wish. Yesterday and last night it arrived. And, this morning, I was outside taking pictures of it.

After that, it was time to be inside and put my tray of plants in the sunshine. But, first I took this picture of a Wandering Jew flower. It also shows how many flowers have gone before it, since December 12, 2009 when the blooming season began.

On the evening of June 29th we received some rain, then the sun reappeared, bringing with it the left side of a rainbow. It was a wonderful sight to see!

Interestingly, the same thing happened on July 4th, and again on July 6th! It was so nice to not only receive the rain, but to also be able to enjoy the beauty of the colors each time!

A final photo from last weekend.

Southwestern colors in an Albuquerque neighborhood.

Hope everyone has a good week ahead. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments.

New Mexico - Wild Hurses

Winds of time on shifting sands... A very strong wind was blowing the white sand off the tops and flanks of the dunes. Light and Land Deserts tour

Each new day brings with it,

Opportunities yet to be,

And, as they are unfolding,

Who knows what we will see?

It was a dreary, gray day, this April Fool's day.

Time to exclude the sky. I was not feeling very well so I thought a walk across my property might cheer me up.

I realized that there is a theme of persistence and decay happening in this forest.

These trees persist, despite the abnormal dry conditions, but for how long?

I'm in a bright color phase right now...I think I prefer this to the B&W.

Sometimes, there just isn't a whole lot to photograph in New Mexico.

Surrounded by sand, one can see how big the world is.

How it changes every millisecond.

Remember, never go into the desert alone.

One can get lost easily... this, I know ;)
