The Nashville Skyline at the Waterfront provides nice photo opportunities. Standing on the Pedestrian Bridge over the Cumberland River, I saw that the clouds were moving fast, so I added a ND6 filter so that I could get a creamer effect in the sky and used a 30 second exposure time at f22. It provides a nice effect.
For some people, any image of downtown Nashville is synonymous with country music, honky tonks, and cowboy hats. For me, any view of the Music City's skyline will forever evoke the mouthwatering smell of grilled cheeseburgers, which was what kept wafting across the river to taunt me while I stood out in the freezing cold on a Saturday night with only my tripod for company.
Long exposure (25 seconds) from the quay at Cumberland Park with my Olympus OM-D E-M5 and the 20mm f/1.7 lens, at f/9, ISO 200, tripod mounted. Small enough aperture to get me some nice stars on those lights, and slow enough shutter speed to get me some good movement in those light clouds. I have done almost nothing to this image in post – this is essentially how it looked straight out of the camera. Not that I'm against processing – far from it. It's just that I have nothing to say on this image about my process, since in this case I was able to take care of pretty much everything in camera.
This is one of those that really looks best big, on black. Hit the "L" key. Then if you're feeling really crazy select "Fullscreen".
Thanks very much for stopping by, everyone!
Two shot pano of Nashville after sunset. A different set of photos from the same time that I shot a photo of Nashville that I posted earlier.
After my visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame I walked over to the Shelby Street Bridge to check out the skyline. The partly cloudy weather was perfect for this shot. Nashville is a great city and I can't wait to go back!

Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and the county seat of Davidson County.[5] It is located on the Cumberland River in Davidson County, in the north-central part of the state. The city is a center for the health care, music, publishing, banking and transportation industries, and is home to a large number of colleges and universities.

One of my favorite cities in the country. Work brought me there for a few days this week. I do not always get a chance to make a frame while on a trip but I could not pass up this picturesque skyline.
Rolled through Nashville the other night, so grabbed a few shots from the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge.
4 image pano.
Sights of Nashville looking up the Cumberland River from the Music City Bikeway. On the left is Nashville with the prominent AT&T building (I've sampled this building quite a bit) and Riverfront Park; on the right is LP Field where the Tennessee Titans play football and the Cumberland River Sculpture by Alice Aycock.
Image created by stitching together five vertical shots producing a final image of 17,000 x 6,000 pixels. If your browser allows, take a look at original size!! Note - when taking pano with wires and fine lines be generous in the overlap to assure alignment during the stitch. I had to process this a couple of times before it came close and even then I had to touch up the wires. I actually missed one that can be seen by the CMT building and one crossing the Courtyard by Marriott. Good luck!
A few more shots from our Nashville trip. Inside the Opryland (or as I call it, Opulentland) hotel and convention center. It is quite impressive
The desert was beautiful this morning. I was able to get some shots of migrating Warblers such as this Nashville Warbler.
